I've never eaten at Sci-fi, but love Primetime. It's decent, homestyle comfort food, with good-sized portions. And the atmosphere is a lot of fun.

Sifi is in the dark and neat,, food sucked..
Prime time 50's was great we a party of 9 had a blast..

The atmosphere of both is really fun. But, we definetly prefer the food and service at 50's.

i voted for 50s b/c we do enjoy Sci-Fi but out of the 4x we have eaten there the service was beyond terrible 2x but fabulous one time, and once average. The food is pretty good. I used to get the ribs which were perfect and lean but the last 2x they were fatty. I dont like being really close w/ other people's families and being in those cars is very close. If you go, ask for the front if it bothers you like it bothers me, the front did help. Just hope there are not kids behind you kicking your seat. We have always had great service at 50s and wonderful food as well. It is fun to watch the old shows like Dennis the Menace.

I personally haven't eaten at either, but if I had to choose I would go with 50 PT because I have heard such good things about it. On the other hand I have read that a lot of people go to Sci-Fi just for the atmosphere and not the food.

I agree with previous posters.....food is better at 50's (comfort food to the max...fried chickenand mashed potatoes is worth a visit. But you will leave stuffed, make sure to do the thrill rides before you eat.

My DD8 LOVES Sci-fi and always asks to go back. The shakes and onion rings are good at Sci-fi.

I've only been to SciFi Dine-In and was really disappointed, as was my family. Never going back. Definitely go to 50s.

Definitely 50s Prime Time. The theme and joking around is fun. The food is many times better than Sci Fi Diner. At 50s PT, the homemade milkshakes are absolutely incredible.

The theming at Sci Fi Diner is fun too, DS likes it.... we will probably go back to Sci Fi again if DS wants to and we are spending enough time in HS to do so. But if only choosing one, 50s PT wins by a mile.

I voted for Sci fi. I've never been to 50's, just doesn't appeal to me, so I can't compare. We have been to Sci fi twice for lunch and enjoyed it both times. This last time I had the turkey sandwich that I thought was very good. It has bacon and a really good avocado mayo. Dh had the Reuben and tht was good as well. My kids had a burger with swiss and mushrooms and the ribs and they both liked their meals. The time before I had the pasta and didn't love it. I agree that the service isn't great, but honestly none of our servers stand out to me as being great.

Thank you, I read your dining review - very well put together - enjoyed it greatly. We're from MD too, Frederick.

Everyone thank you everyone for the comments - think we'll do the 50s PT. I was a little hesitant because of the food - don't think chicken pot pie and meatloaf would go over too well with the family - too heavy. Was wishing for a good burger and onion rings. I saw 50s PT menu and they have onion rings too, maybe the caesar salad or sandwich would work. We definately love sundaes and milkshakes so those are two pluses.

My vote is definitely for Sci-Fi, but they are very different restaurants. In my opinion, 50's has "so-so" comfort food...but be prepared to enjoy(or suffer from) the antics of the waiters...it can be fun, but depending on your group, it can be a little embarrassing, depending on your waiter. As for Sci-Fi, I think they usually get a bad rap, but I enjoy their food and the environment. Their tofu dish is my absolute favorite in all of DW! I don't think you can go wrong with either...HAVE FUN!!!:dance3:

Have fun on your trip. We are by BWI Airport. I could make a meal out of the milkshakes at 50s PT!!! I had a strawberry shake during the meal... and a peanut butter and jelly shake to go... I really just wanted a sample of the PBJ but was brought a full one anyway. And you KNOW I didn't waste it. I'm such a pig...

Sci Fi was interesting but I really like that 50s PT is more like a family meal -- you are sitting at at table together. The seating at SciFi is facing the TV screen and not really great for conversation. We eat in front of the TV too much at home already.....

Sci-Fi. I think they both have terrible food, but Sci-Fi's theme wins hands down.

I chose 50s prime time because it is a really neat, unique experience and the fried chicken is so good! I think certain dishes at 50s prime time are better than the sci-fi menu but much of the food at both places are about the same quality and taste. If you have someone that is a total sci-fi buff though, go there. It is also a fun place to eat.

Although I prefer the food at 50's, my entire family prefers Sci Fi. It's just more fun there. 50's food isn't that great to offset the fun of Sci Fi.

50's Prime Time and always had a good time there. At Sci-Fi I once sent my meal back and had it deducted from the bill and another time were sat with a person who kept complaining about our kids (they sit 6 to a car even if you are a party of 4).

I vote Sci-Fi - it's more of a fun atmosphere! Last time, we had no complaints w/ either the service or food - but we stuck w/ sandwiches, burgers, fries, & ice cream!

For me, the food at Prime Time looks too much like what I would get at our local Cracker Barrel - it's good food, just not what I want at Disney.

Sci-Fi is just more fun & more of a cool restaurant for us!
