My Kodak digital camera is dying, plus it's HUGE. So I'm looking for a new one that's thinner and lighter weight. I found two that I like and can afford.

Kodak MD853 and a Polaroid A801. Both are 8.0 megapixel. The Kodak has a 3X zoom the Polaroid a 4X zoom.

I know nothing of either camera, but check out dpreview for their assesment of each.

I can't really seem to find any info on the polaroid one, including on dpreview, so just based on that, I'd go with the kodak.

I just got the M853 in rose red and it's a good camera. Very compact and takes very nice pictures. I'm still experimenting with the ISO and the LT settings, but it works well for me as I'm a point and shoot type of gal. It has a lot of fun features that I never got on any of my previous cameras.

I just got that Kodak one for my birthday!

I had previously had a 4mp Nikon, so I'm probably not the best judge. I absolutely love the Kodak! The view screen is huge, it has smart scene so it picks which mode is best and automatically switches to it. Even I can't mess it up!

I couldn't find much on the Polaroid one myself. And now that 2 of you have the Kodak one and seem to like them, I'm leaning heavily towards that one

The thing that drives me nuts about Kodak P&S cameras is that you either charge the camera with a USB cable (needing a PC to connect to) or a dock you have to lug around. But, looking at the two, the Kodak seems to be more open with their information and, therefore, I'd go that route.
