hi! we will be at wdw dec. 18-27. then we have 2 days to "play with" before heading home.
it is me, dh and dd (will be just 7 at time of trip). dd won't, at this point, ride roller coasters.

so, to anyone who has been to sea world and universal and/or islands of adventure.....which would you choose knowing dd won't ride the "big" rides?

thanks!

Hi..our grandkids really enjoyed Gatorland...it is up close and really almost hands on with hundreds of gators...there is also a couple of little shows that are good and interactive if the kids want...

Good luck with your choice...

hi ted! we did gatorland this past dec. after wdw. my dd loved it! she sat on a 6 foot gator and had her picture taken! i still can't believe she actually did it!

that was fun!

thanks for your reply :wave2:

We have enjoyed with our daughter who is 5 SW and IOA. There are smaller rides at IOA for the younger opnes.

I would say sea world is for the younger ones. there will be more for her to do. at IOA there is a whole dr. Suess land that she would love i would look into it too. i don't think i would do universal. it seems like it is for the older croud. but thats just my opinion.

Sea World will have more for young kids. Plus, with Sea World, there are not a bunch of lines to wait in for a ride that lasts a few minutes. It is mostly shows in outdoor theaters where you can sit and be entertained. A nice change from the other parks.

thanks everyone for your replies!

after reading here, i think i will stick to what i thought and we will go to sea world! maybe in a few years she will be ready for coasters!

thanks again! :)

Sea World is great choice.........................gators at a distance!!!! and much more...

glad you enjoyed Gatorland...once is usually enough for a few years!!!

Ted

It depends on whether you want to focus on ride-type attractions or animal attractions.

IOA is great for little ones as well as older kids/ adults. Seussland is similar to Fantasyland but is (GASP)! even better themed, IMO. Not as many rides as Fantasyland, though. Spiderman is probably THE best non-coaster ride in Orlando, again IMO. The 3 water rides there are all great, and with the possible exception of Jurassic Park River Adventure, your whole family could enjoy them.

Seaworld is great if your Dd is really into animals and shows. My 2 Dds loved the Pets Ahoy show more than Shamu. Only a couple of rides there, she couldn't ride Kracken (a great coaster BTW) and probably wouldn't ride Atlantis, so that leaves just Wild Arctic. She will also probably spend a good amount of time at the Shamus Happy Harbor, which my girls enjoyed more than any of WDW or Universal's play areas.

I agree with a previous poster that I would take Universal Studios out of the equation, not enough ther for her, IMO.

Have fun deciding!

I owuld do SW with your DD. Lots to do, feed the dolphins and the rays, laught at the sealions. Not to tiring as the shows are really good and you DD will prob love them.

Sea World ! Beautiful park. Fun, educational..........
Since your 7 yo doesn't like roller coasters (and she probably wouldn't make height restrictions on a few of them), I don't think IOA would be worth the admission cost just for Dr Suess Landing and maybe the water rides (might even be too cold for water rides in Dec).
My kids loved Sea World when they were small. Have a great trip.

We love the Universal parks, but I agree with the others who say Sea World. It's great for everybody. They used to have a 2nd day free (within the next 7 days), but I don't know about now. You could check the Sea World board for that and discounts.
