Right now we're selling our house and we want to take a trip down to WDW after we close to relax. We were just there with extended family and had a very hectic, yet fun trip. But this time we want to have a more mellow, relaxing type of trip.

Out of these choices which would you choose and if you have time to post, why?

Thank you!!

I would definitely put a vote in for the Yacht Club. It's location is second to none. Be certain that you do ask for a water view room, and preferably something that looks out onto Crescent Lake. The YC just went through a refurbishment and SAB is the best pool on property.

My DW and I stayed there for our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. You have the entertainment of the Boardwalk area at your fingertips along with a great selection of eateries in the Epcot/Boardwalk area. You are within walking distance to both Epcot and the Studios.

I selected the Grand Floridian, only because you said you wanted a mellow, relaxing trip. While I like the Epcot resort area personally, I've read comments from some people that its too busy for their tastes. I like the Boardwalk for its convenience of being a walk or boat ride away from two parks, and also being able to walk to the Epcot Monorail. Of course the Y&B have the same benefits.

From the choices you listed, I voted for the GF. I like being on the monorail line. I guess it depends on where you would spend most of your park time. The grounds are beautiful and most of the time the areas are quiet. I especially enjoy the walk between the GF and the Polynesian.

I picked YC/BC because there's a lot to do around there without going to the parks. You could hang out at the pool or take a stroll on the Boardwalk. You could walk over and eat in the World Showcase. There's a miniature golf course right near there. There are nice rocking chairs on the porch of the YC. The area is just beautiful.

I picked the Dolphin for that low rate, but also because I have heard some great things on this board about it. You could be upgraded to get a great view, or a balcony, and watch Illuminations. Take a leisurely ride on the friendship to EPCOT and MGM, and spend the extra money on a relaxing Illuminations Cruise! Have you thought about AKL? Its not on your list, but it looks great for relaxing. Or even a villa at OKW. Nice and quiet and spacious!

I had to vote for the Yacht Club as it's our favorite resort. There is simply so much to do without ever going to a park. Have fun.

I chose the GF. All the ones listed are fabulous but the feeling you want is "relaxing."
I would love to be able to saunter around those gorgeous grounds, take in an afternoon tea, or visit the lounge for a drink or two while listening to the GF Society Orchestra. At night, the Electric Water Pageant makes its rounds in front of your hotel for a wonderful spectacle. The walk to the Polynesian on a crisp morning is such a delight, as different creatures seem to appear around every corner of the meandering paths.
Have I helped you make up your mind? I know I would choose the GF, simply because of its attention to detail and proximity to the Magic Kingdom, monorail hotels and monorail service to Epcot. Good luck, Wilma:smooth:

Your choices are all excellent. When my husband and I want a very relaxing vacation at Disney, we always stay at Old Key West. It's a vacation on a vacation at Disney. You can easily get to the hubbub if you want but still have the relaxing atmosphere of being away from it all. Olivia's is a decent restaurant, the pool is very nice and the units are quite spacious. My second choice would be Boardwalk only because you can always find your little piece of heaven and it has room service to boot!!! Enjoy and good luck with your choice.

Have you thought about AKL?

We've stayed there and loved it. We like to try a new resort each trip so the ones I've listed we've never stayed at.

Thank you everyone for voting!!! I've put in a request through Dreams Unlimited for a quote on a stay at the Yacht club. That pool looks amazing and I've always wanted to stay next to Epcot.

thanks again!

I picked the Yacht/Beach Club...I love it there and the pool cannot be beat! :) I have never stayed at the Dolphin, but I have stayed at the Swan twice and I love it there as well...the beds are just incredible! :)
