Hi all,
We are planning taking my sis , her BF, and her two kiddos ( ages 15 and 20) along with myself, DH and DD(33) on a short (Wed- sun) T day trip to disney next year. Our home resort is BCV and have already booked a two bedroom, but are considering two studios at Poly instead if available at 7 month mark. We will need to arrive in evening ...maybe around 5-6 ish . Sis and young'uns also want to visit the dark side aka universal on t giving (not dh and I -lol) . What would you do? We are disney vets, but not when it comes to this time of year (I'm a teacher and summer crowds are bad enough, but this is only time sis can go). To muddy the waters further, we are considering ? staying first night at universal - the cabana bay and therefore weighing which check in day at disney ( weds evening or early on Thanksgiving day - gives us best shot at a half- way decent room since all will be full up-lol!) . any advice DIS friends?

Do you have particular parks that you plan on concentrating on? PVB is quite nice for both MK and Epcot because you the DVC buildings are at the end by the Ticket and Transportation center so you can walk over there and catch either the ferry or the express monorail to the MK or get right on the Epcot monorail.

Really, DVC is full up most of the time so I don't think getting a good room is any worse on Thanksgiving being that people are moving in and out every day. I personally woudn't worry much about that.

Thanks Kat4disney,! We will be visiting MK and epcot of course, but not sure exactly what my sis really wants to see. DH, DD, and I go every year ,but sis is a cancer survivor so we are doing this one for her. BCV gives us all a little more privacy and is in walking distance from epcot while poly has monorail and easy access to MK. decisions, decisions lol!

A 2BR is always nice for the space plus the kitchen for snacks and drinks and of course the laundry!

I would do the 2BR at Beach Club. Besides I don't think there will be any openings at the 7 month window for the Poly for Thanksgiving. Anyway you should have a great time together.

Thanks, Yes, we are very aware that rooms might not be available at 7 months, but figured we would think about that option ahead of time-( my sis mentioned possibly wanting to stay there someday) should it actually be available right at 7 month mark (hence why we have already booked our home resort -lol!) ps my dh is sort of "with you-" leaning toward the 2 br for a little more privacy with such a large grouppixiedust: lol

I would not really care which location as long as I was at Disney! Either way you will enjoy the time you are there. Just think you have a room so no stress is needed!

Thanks! not stressing really, just want it to be nice as possible for sis and her family, she hasn't been for over 20 years since her first son (now deceased :worried:, was a teen). Her two other kids have never been!
Have you or anyone else have experience checking in on night before holiday vs day of the holiday? Still wondering if our room chances/location better checking in on thanksgiving or evening night before ( we are really hoping for pool view if BCV or higher floor if poly -know not guaranteed no matter what, but want to do what we can to improve our chances- yes, I know they are preassigned but also know they will sometimes have some flexibliity depending on when you check in and what is available. )
