DD (age 6) and I will be staying at the Coronado Springs Resort for two nights before checking into the Wilderness Lodge on a dining plan package.

Our plane arrives in Orlando a little before 9 a.m., and we plan to take the ME to our hotel. I thought we would leave our luggage with bell services and venture out for breakfast before checking in to our room.

I realize that we may miss our ADR, but breakfast is our very favorite meal of the day. I am hoping that we can make it in time!

Since I want to save the character breakfasts for the days when we are on the dining plan, I narrowed down our choices for this out-of-pocket breakfast to three:

Kona Cafe
Kouzzina
Wolfgang Puck's Express

Which would you choose and why? Thank you! :flower3:

I have to be realistic here... I think you are cutting it very close to make it to any of these restaurants while they are still serving breakfast.

If your plane lands at 9 am, and you take ME, you will arrive at your resort at approximately 10:30, assuming normal wait times and Orlando traffic.

If you allow just 15 minutes to check-in, you still have to travel to any of those restaurants. BTW, you don't have to worry about your luggage. With ME, bell services automatically delivers your luggage to your room when it arrives from the airport (not on your bus, comes by truck).

WPE -- direct bus, maybe could make it there, with reasonable wait time for bus, in 20-30 minues.

Kouzzina -- bus to DHS, boat to Boardwalk, probably no less than 60 minutes.

Kona Cafe -- bus to MK, maybe walk to Poly, probably 45 minutes.

Of course you could substitute a taxi for Disney transportation and greatly increase your chances of arriving before breakfast service ends -- usually 11:30 am.

I kind of have to agree.

But if you try and wish really hard.....

I would opt OUT of Konas unless you want the tonga toast (personally I dont like bananas and have never tried it, but heard a thousand times its very good). Everything else on the menu is just ordinary and not a lot to choose from. I just get a the ham omelet..nothing special...

I have to agree that you will not have time to get to a breakfast ADR. The average time from stepping off the plane to checking into your resort is 70--90 minutes. Check-in could take a while, and then you'd have to use Disney Transportation (more time!) to get to breakfast.

Perhaps you can relax on arrival day with a counter service meal and schedule your breakfast on your 1st full day in the parks?

Thanks, everyone! I am prepared to miss breakfast, if things take longer than I hope at the airport. I still want to give it a try, though.

Taking a taxi from the CSR would be no problem for us! And we do not have to check into the resort until after we have eaten breakfast. So, if ME can drop us off at the resort by 10:30, we could just hop off the bus and immediately hop into a cab to make it to an ADR.

I checked availability, and as of tonight, I could get Kona Cafe at 11:10 AM or Kouzzina at 10:50 AM. I think Wolfgang Puck Express serves breakfast at their counter until 11 AM.

Which Wolfgang Puck Express is better? The one in Downtown Disney? Or the one in Disney's Westside? I have never been to either.

I was looking at Wolfgang's Breakfast Pocket - Scrambled eggs, peppers, Niman Ranch Bacon, onions, mushrooms, mozzarella and cheddar cheese baked into Wolfgang's pizza dough.

At Kona Cafe, I was thinking about ordering the Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes or maybe the Big Kahuna Breakfast with those pancakes and eggs and French Toast (Good Night! That's a lot of food!).

At Kouzzina, I was thinking about ordering the Spinach, Tomato, and Feta Scrambled Eggs, served with Breakfast Potatoes and a choice of Bacon or Chicken Sausage -OR- the Classic Golden Waffle with Whipped Mascarpone Cheese, Honey, and Chopped Pecans and choice of Bacon or Chicken Sausage.

We are big breakfast lovers! It's our favorite meal of the day. We probably will not be able to do all three of these places on this trip, because I have mostly character breakfasts planned for the days that we are on the dining plan. Also, I have one breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe and one breakfast at Boma's planned. So I guess I will have to save the other two restaurants for a future trip!

Thanks again for your help! :goodvibes

Then I would go with Konas is that the latest ADR.

Considering you are paying OOP, do you really need to check in before you eat? Maybe ME can drop you off at the Poly??

What an awesome idea! It couldn't hurt to ask! If not, I have the taxi as my backup plan. Wow! Thank you for the idea! :woohoo:

Oh, you could be cutting it real close. If your plane doesn't land until about 9AM expect to leave the airport about a half hour later - figuring that you need to check in at ME and you could wait in line by the bus or wait on the bus for it to fill up. Then expect a min. of a half hour ride and that would be if your resort would be the first drop off for ME. My guess is that you wouldn't get to your resort until about 10:30ish. You could grab a taxi from the airport to try to save you time, but either way I think you are cutting it close. If I were you I would get the latest possible reservations for where ever you decide to eat. Hope it works out for you! Enjoy your trip!

Oh, sorry... I probably should've read more or read your posts better. Guess that is what I get for not going to bed at a decent time :)! Enjoy yourselves!

I would check lunch menus as well as a back up plan. Then I would go with the one that you like both menus and try for the absolute latest breakfast time.

You are cutting it close, but since you're staying at CSR, why not try the Maya Grill?? It's pretty good actually, and once you get to the hotel, there's no extra transportation.
