Which would you cancel? 50's or MM?

Have 2 ADR's for one night (just made the 2nd today). One is at 50's Prime Time and the other is at Mama Melrose's. We haven't been to either one before. The ressie is for me, DH, DD 6, and DS 4. Will kids this young "get" the humor? What would you experienced DISers do? :confused3

I would keep the 50's Prime Time Reservation! It's my favorite place and not something that you can find anywhere else. I like Mama Melrose ok (or did when I was last there), but you can find Italian food anywhere. If you go to Prime Time, ask for a spunky wait person. The last couple times we were there we had Mark, who was a lot of fun. No idea if he's still there, but I'm going to request him when we return.

My kids do enjoy the place. Whether they get the humor...I don't know, but so many things are for them that I figure that it's one place that's for me and they do seem to enjoy it. I know my older kids enjoy it a lot. When I brought my 11yo last time he had a great time--watching a normally shy kid get so silly was a lot of fun!

When I first saw the thread I thought keep MM hands down! The last time we were there we had amazing food. But after seeing you have two young kids- I'd agree and say keep 50's Prime Time. More interaction and more of an "experience" for the kids. :)

50s Prime Time is the quintessential Disney themed dining experience. Mama Melrose is just a mediocre Italian restaurant, and isn't all that special in terms of theming.

Definitely stick with Prime Time.

My vote is for Prime Time. MM didn't impress us in December, but we had eaten at Alfredo's a few days prior

Another vote to keep the 50's PT. The food is good, and the atmosphere is fun. Even little kids like to see their parents getting scolded. We aren't huge Mama Melrose fans. We think the food is ok, but haven't hurried back.

Wow - glad I got the Prime Time ADR today then since my trip is less than 2 weeks away!

Prime Time it is. DH and I love Italian food, but we do have great Italian places by us and we certainly don't have anything like Prime Time from what I've read about.

Thanks for helping me make a decision.

Make sure you wear your lime green and look for me! I'll be there May 3-9th. I do want to make sure I eat at Prime Time and it will be one of the only ADRs that I make, so I need to decide which day I want to go to MGM so I can call. They were closed when I was there in January.

I'll be at Disney the same exact dates! Staying at the Poly and will be at Prime Time on Sunday, May 7th! They still had times available for the 7th...

Another vote for Prime Time, especially with kids! :thumbsup2 It's comfort food that kids will like and the atmosphere is fun. I like the old B&W TV's playing 50s sitcoms like "Ozzie and Harriet". The kids will like "Mom" telling their Dad to get his elbows off the table. ;)

I forgot which day I had penciled in for MGM. Since I didn't reserve until yesterday, I don't have anything commited to memory! :rotfl:

We're staying at AS Movies since that's all that was available (back to reserving yesterday... ;) ).

Poly is so much fun. We stayed there the first couple times as a family, so it will always be our home at WDW. I'm just bringing my 6yo this trip, though.

The only thing I have figured out is MK on Th, the 4th, that is if I don't change my mind... :teeth:
