Still working out our plans and nor sure which would be the best. We have a AK day and a DHS day but want to eat dinner outside of the park. the two places we have chosen is Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at 5:15 and Boathouse in Disney springs. Problem is I want to make sure we will have enough time to get to our Dinning location but also make it back for Fantasmic and ROL if it willl be ready for our May trip. Which dinning choice should go with which park? Also what would be the best route to get to Boathouse from the best choice of these two parks?

I will say that you cannot make it to SOA if you want to come back for Fantasmic. SOA is a dinner show and will take some time. They need to seat everyone so you need to allow plenty of time to get there, then a good 2 hours there and travel back to DHS in time to stand in line and get seated.

I don't know how long for the Boathouse, but again, there is that pesky travel time you are dealing with. Is there a reason you do not want to eat on the Boardwalk or Epcot while you are at DHS? Both are short distances from DHS and there are some really good choices in that area.

As far as ROL in AK, I woudl wait and book Tiffins. I know you did not ask, but there are rumors thee will BA a package, but in any case, the restaurant is in the park, so if you leave you are going to be back in the pak to see the show.

For SOA you are looking at at least 4 hours round trip. For the boat house you are also looking at 4 hours round trip (maybe a smidge less.)

I wouldn't do either one.

ETA: It will be impossible to do SOA and then see the night time show in either park. The timing will not work.

Honestly, I wouldn't go with any of these. You're underestimating how much time it's going to take. I don't see either one of these working quite honestly.

I second what @mshanson3121 said..timing is going to be the key...but 1 lil thing can throw off the whole schedule....

What I would do is, try for something over at AKL/V. There are 3 excellent choices there to choose from...At worst, * ( and I say that Loosely ) Rain Forest Cafe, has never disappointed in the 3 visits we've had....Nothing spectacular, or over the top, but just good food, good service, & actually good time.

For HS, If you don't want to eat there , I love (50's P/T) then possibly take a short boat ride to the boardwalk area....Either at the Swan & Dolphin or either of the 2 resorts there.....But be forewarned, you'll need some time to get back to F!....That line starts to form pretty early...

HTH..Have a great time.

Our family loves shellfish and steak and is the reason why we choose Boathouse. We have limited days on this trip so we have to combine things. Any idea what type of food will be offered at Tiffins? Not even sure if ROL will be up and running by May 14th our AK day but planning on it just in case. We do not have hopper passes so any suggestions on a seafood/ steak place which would be close to DHS?

Cape May Cafe is an easy 20 walk from DHS.

Just a little more info; I do plan on getting FP for Fantasmic so hoping that would help.

Unfortunately we have that already planned for our Epcot day. Looking forward to riding the boat over there from the park.

You can actually get there in a lot less time by walking....It's literally a 3 or 4 minute walk from where you enter the boats (outside IG) to Beach club/ CMC...The time it'll take for you to wait for a boat then actually go there would be longer, I'm guessin. The Boat back from HS is much more enjoyable. If you can, maybe switching that ADR for the HS day, and choose another option for your Epcot day...There are so many options to choose from, at this park...Just a thought.:confused3

Walking is much faster. It's literally right around the corner. Taking the boat will actually require about the same amount of walking, plus waiting for the boat and stopping at BWI first.

There are so many terrific dining options in Epcot that I would choose instead. Why not try one of them and move Cape May to your DHS day?

You know you just gave me an idea! Maybe we can switch our Cape May reservation to our DHS day and do our Boathouse on our Epcot day. We do not care to catch the fireworks at Epcot since we did get a chance to see them when we were on our last trip. Now just have to fit SOA in some where

Can you fit SOA near the end of your MK day? Then watch the fireworks from the Poly beach or TTC?

Ahhh!

I read Tiffins may be steak, but not sure. I have read good things about the Boathouse, and want to try it.

Is Flying Fish supposed to be reopened by then? We really liked it there.

We just have to make choices and that is what is so hard. My kids really want to eat dinner at Tony's on or MK day and are really excited about seeing the Castle show and Wishes at the park. What is making this so darn hard this time around is there are so many things going on at night we would like to see. Looks like we are going to have to give in some where. You Just can not do everything. So wish I at least had an idea how ROL is going to be scheduled and if it will even be ready by the time we are there.

Tiffins May be a possibility but unfortunately it is an unknown at this time and probably will remain that way until really really close to our trip.
I think Flying Fish will still be closed when we are there.

I recommend watching the recent DIS Unplugged podcast where they reviewed Tony's before making your final decision.

I agree, making the choices is tough because you can't do it all. It looks like our trip is right after yours, and I've planned not to see ROL. Between the uncertainty of opening and the fact that it will be packed, I'm not interested in trying to plan for it. It will be there the next time we go, and our kids will be older and more able and willing to do more evening activities. Now, the new Frozen stuff at Epcot? I've got a 5yo Frozen fanatic, so I've planned for multiple options to get her to that.

I hear you!!! That is another uncertainty!! I was hoping That the Frozen ride would be open during our trip but I just am not going get my heart set on either of these things. Sure makes it difficult to plan though
