I posted this in the DVC board, but then realized, you all may give me more people to poll, so here goes again (sorry if you got it twice!!)

OK, well our first trip home will be sometime next eyar, but we can't decide when. We have a sone who'll be 3 in August, me and DH. Now, I would like to take my niece b/c she'll never get to go otherwise and she's almost 10 now. THat'd be the best present I could ever giver her. But, her mom won't take her out of school for a trip to WDW, so we won't be able to go in the "less crowded" times. I'll need to be at least April or later so I can save to afford to take her, too. Here's our options:

anytime during these dates in 2005

April 2-10th (Spring break)
May 27th- August 17th (Sumemr break)
Thanksgiving week
December 18-Jan 2, 2006.

What do you all think? DS will have much more fun w/her, so I REALLy want to find a way. I know all of these times are typically crowded, but what would you suggest? I'm thinking as soon as school gets out???

Ok if money is a factor and you are staying on site i would think about this. When is Value season?? Well Dec 18th is the last day for Value season in the fall. So if your first night in a resort was the 18th you would get your whole stay with value rate prices.
You would also see Christmas decorations and it would be very festive. Hopefully others will tell you about crowd levels at this time since i have never been at this time. I have heard that it is crowded though.

April will be nice weather and it will be busy but not as busy as holiday times.
Once again, if you are staying on site this is Peak season so you will be paying a lot more.

Thanksgiving week- I love going the week before or the week after Thanksgiving but....that you can't do . We left last year the Monday before Thanksgiving and it was getting pretty crowded. I don't mind this if the weather is nice and not too hot.
Also very festive and many of the holdiay decorations were up.

I would not want to go in the summer. I don't like all that heat and especially with all the crowds i would go nuts. BUT Aug7th starts the value season again and some schools are starting back up so maybe in the middle of Aug(if you can stand the heat.)

I'm voting for the first week in June. You are going to find the least amount of crowds with the dates you've given. Those dates in April are going to be mobbed that close to Easter. The remainder of June will become increasingly more busy every week. The first week should be okay-- gonna be busy but not mobbed. The whole summer will be busy as will the THanksgiving and Christmas holiday breaks listed. Plus is your sister going to let her DD be away from home for Easter or Christmas??? I know my sister would let me take my neice to Disney in a heartbeat, but she wouldn't allow me to take her at one of those holiday's as she'd want her home to spend the holiday together.
