Which Westin in San Diego should I stay?

We are making our first visit to DL and being a WDW veteran for 11 years and raking up all my Starwood points during my stays at the Swan I'd like to stay in a Westin/Sheraton during our stay in San Diego. I went to Starwood's site and there are 10 and of course I don't know which one is the closest to the southern calif. parks.

Suggestions?

Which parks are you asking about?

Personally, if I had tons of points that could be used on anything, I'd only stay at an actual Westin. I think I saw only two of them on the list on starwood.

Oh, you can drop one off the list, the Sheraton La Jolla. That was a bit of a drive from San Diego. Sheraton Carlsbad, too, unless you want to be close to Legoland (unless Carlsbad is north of San Diego and you're considering "commuting" in to Disneyland and the other Los Angeles theme parks?).

re-reading...

So it's a trip to DL but you're staying in San Diego?

If you decide you want to be closer to DL, there's the:

Sheraton Anaheim Hotel
900 South Disneyland Drive · Anaheim, California 92802

And another Sheraton, and a Westin in Long Beach, Costa Mesa, or Los Angeles (closer to DL than San Diego, that's for sure!).

Bumbershoot-

Your part right---

We want to start in San Diego and do the zoo and SeaWorld and then work our way up to Universal and then onto Disney.

OK, very cool. :)

My brother lives in SD and our first two trips were one day trips from there, and 3+ hours round-trip in one day, in that insanely fast traffic, was just a huge pain. I didn't want you to be doing that unless you really meant to!

I just noticed (never did before) that there's a link above the list to view the hotels on a map. That might be very helpful!

From my knowledge of the city, Balboa park (zoo) and Seaworld are both pretty close in to the downtown area (my SIL works in downtown, and she used to meet my brother on a long lunch to see the Pets Rule show at Seaworld), so looking at how close in the actual SD Starwoods are, if I were making the decisions, I would probably just go by the info about the hotels themselves.

When I did the San Diego search, I get the page with the list, and underneath the picture across the top (palm trees on my screen) there is this:

Find Rooms & Rates: Search Results
A total of 10 hotels were found that met your criteria.
View Hotels On Map

Then under that a bright orange bar with the following inside the bar:

Why book on Starwoodhotels.com? The only place online to earn Starpoints®, no online booking fees, exclusive offers and our Best Rate Guarantee. Learn more >.

And then the list.

When I clicked on the link to the map, it's an annoyingly small map, so I had to click the plus sign to get 'closer' a few times, and mess around with the direction buttons to get it centered where I wanted it to see what places were where.

Hope that helps!
