Which week in October?

I am looking at booking a trip in October, being at the parks Sunday-Thursday before we head out of town. I was originally going to book for 11-15 which is the week UEA starts. My kids would miss 3 days of school with those dates. I am now wondering about Oct 25-29. That would be 4 days off school but we would be able to get a bigger suite for the same price.

I'm wondering if there will be much difference in the crowds between the UEA week which we have never done but will actually be leaving on the first official day of the vacation or the week leading up to Halloween? I am aware that October in itself is not considered a slow time at all. If there isn't a significant crowd difference I want to have the kids only miss the three days.

Big difference between those two weeks. Last year we went right after UEA and it was a lot less crowded than the last time we went during UEA. Arizona also has a fall break around the same time as UEA so if you can go later in the month, I would.

ETA: A lot of Utah families take their kids out of school for the whole week of UEA, so even if the break is Thursday-Sunday, that whole week is a lot busier.

If you can do the later date without causing too much disruption to your kids education, I'd go then. Last time I went for uea I swore I'd never do it again, but just like child birth, my memory is fading & I'm thinking about going at that time again. As the kids get older it's so hard to pull them out of school.

Thanks. I was impatient and booked the first week before I had replies. I can still change it but haven't decided yet. Hubby thinks I should just leave it since it's done but it wouldn't be hard to change. I would much rather go when it is less busy. UEA week kind of scares me.
