I am planning a trip to WDW Oct 2016. Which week would be best for crowds/ weather etc.? Also I am looking into staying at a Mod. resort. Which would you recommend? I have to book within the next few days so any help is greatly appreciated!!

I'd say the last full week...22-29 or so. Far enough away from fall breaks/Columbus Day and not yet to Halloween.

Avoid Columbus Day and the weekend prior, we're going from the 12th to the 22nd. The last 4 Oct trips we had at least a few days above 90, fine by us and I can't recall rain of any significance. We've enjoyed POR and POFQ, entertainment in the pub and a boat to Disney Springs. Take advantage of Food&Wine and the free nightly concerts in WS.

This is why I chose those dates. Plus farther away from Hurricane season. Last year that time was hot, but it's usually not more than 80 during the day with little rainfall. :thumbsup2

Yep, we'll be there the 23-29th. Went the same week two years ago and it worked out well.

My DD and I always go the very first week of October. The crowds are tolerable and we have do not experience much rain. It has been hot, but you are in Florida! We always stay at POR Riverside. It is our favorite. Enjoy your trip!

last time I visited was in March and the weather was great. Im a bit worried with people saying October is "hot"

You can look up averages on a weather app, but I find Oct and Mar weather to feel about the same. Both far more tolerable than summer, both much warmer (I.e. Warm enough to swim) compared to my Midwest home, both susceptible to more variation than summer. Meaning summer is just plain hot every day. Oct or Mar are generally pleasantly hot/warm but can get chilly or *can* still reach mid 90s possibly. Oct and Mar are both also less likely than summer to have those daily pm thunderstorms.

I went before in the summer and the heat was terrible. I try my best to avoid summer if at all possible lol thank you for the info and advice
