We have been the exact same time (1st week of May) the last two years in a row. PERFECT!!!!

Speaking for our 2004 trip - crowds WONDERFUL - walked on several rides. Minimal waits for others. Weather GREAT - was nice and cool in the evenings and not too hot during the day (upper 80's). Only wait times of any significance where for the attractions that seem to always have wait times no matter when you go. (Test track, Splash Mountain, etc)

Our 2003 trip - slightly bigger crowds but still great!!! Weather very HOT that trip - it was in the 90's for that whole trip.

We will be going again this same time. Hoping for the great weather again and small crowds. We don't go later in May just to "try" to avoid any hotter weather.

I would go May 7 to 14 (actually I just made a reservation for that week!). There is supposed to be a press event for Disneyland's 50th anniversary on 5/5/05, so it maybe more crowded that week.

I think either week would be good. Peak season end 4/16 and I would think by the end of April all Spring breakers would be back in school. I think it will probably be hot but not have big crowds either week.

HeatherJ...we went the first week of May this year too and loved it. We went May 3-10.

Its this May 5th press event that has me worried and another poster on the DVC boards said her kids spring break was in late april even though Easter is in March...so...

I am thinking of doing May 7-14th just to be safe.

this should be well before any kids are out of school, right?

Hey I am liking all your responses, LOL!!!!

Seems like you all recommend or are going the second week. . . . to avoid any crowds that might happen becuase of the 50th Celebreation . . . .perhaps that means that it will be PERFECT the first week afterall because everyone is trying to avoid the first week by going later!

And here I was all worried - maybe it won't be bad afterall if everyone is trying to avoid that week on purpose. Too funny! Of course only time will tell.

We were there in 2002 the first week of May and experienced low crowds.
This year we went 4/26-5/3. 3 weeks after the holidays and it was packed.

Wow! Quite a few of us planning for May 7-14th. I'm planning on taking Mom there for Mother's Day, and the F&G Festival at Epcot. I'm really hoping "Soaring" is open by then.
