Not a matter of wanting to be a porker, just wondering for bang for buck purposes and also trying to plan where i would expect to most likely get entrees where i can share w/the little ones. also wanting to know the flipside (which restaurants where portions are super small).....i know serving size is subjective, so will just be looking for any that make repeats. thanks very much for your input!

I would say as much as everyone loves Le Cellier, we all know how small their portions are. You get one little lump of mashed potatos, or about 5 or 6 fingerling potatos as a side with your little baby filet.

As far as big portions at a TS, I like Beaches and Cream. Their burger is huge and you get a decent amount of fries. Also their ice cream sundaes are big enough for two people to share.

I have eaten at a few WDW places and can say I have enjoyed the majority. Belive it or not i found that the ESPN bar on the Boardwalk had large sizes. I know most of the food in their are mainly Sandwhiches and starters are finger food such as nachos, but the portions are quite a size. My DW and I both ordered Nachos for starters and the plate came as i though they put both on one plate, I was wrong the we had to massive plates. The food was too much, we could not finish our main course.

I honestly think the largest portion I've had at WDW was at Cosmic Ray's; the rib/chicken combo. That is cereally a lot of food. I like copious amounts of food, so I hit a lot of buffets.

Biggest portions, not including buffets, I think I'd have to say Yak and Yeti. Smallest maybe Rose & Crown, only because I've always been able to finish my food there, it was plenty though, and I left full.

The only place I have been able to finish all of my food is le cellier. Even sharing with one kid or the other, I always had some left over everywhere else.

I find the kid portions to be generally small pretty much everwhere.

Table Service
We found the portion sizes to be the biggest at Fifties Primetime

We found the smallest portions to be at Le Celier, but we love it any way!

Counter Service

The largest portion is by far at Cosmic Rays in the Magic Kingdom or Cantina San Angels in Epcot also both are very very tastey

The smallest portions would have the been any of the pizza places or Flame Tree.

The smallest portion meal we had was at the San Angel Inn at Epcot. The largest portion meal (other than Crystal Palace) was Whispering Canyon Cafe. I had the steak entree and it was plenty.
I also agree that Cosmic Ray's is huge! Also Restaurantsaurus at AK that burger was as big as my head!! :rotfl2:

I find that most meals on property are pretty huge. Hubby and I almost always split meals (including counterservice) or I often get a kids meal for counter service. I have noticed that the kids meals this past trip were much smaller (probably because of the low cost of kids on the dining plan).
But what you are looking for depends on counter service or table service. Any combo meal at counter service (particularly the chicken and rib combos) are pretty darn big. There are also double bacon cheese burgers at counter service that are huge. These are pretty standard items at some restaurant in each park.

50's Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood studios has about the biggest portions I think i've ever seen.

For your best value try the buffets. We like trails end at the Fort Wilderness Campground. It has the same food as the hoop dee doo show and only costs 20 bucks for adults for dinner (less for lunch)...lots of ribs, chicken, salmon, shrimp, cornbread, soups, salad, desserts...uggg I feel full thinking of it!.

The Wilderness Lodge also has an all you can eat BBQ skillet with brisket, corn, beans, ribs, chicken, cornbread but I think it is more than the buffet at Trails end, about $24. But it also is a fun place and has a regular menu you can order ala cart. They also have bottomless milkshakes and you can try every flavor if you want.

Polynesian Captain Cook's counterservice BBQ pulled pork sandwich with aloha chips is a lot of food!

Port Orleans French Quarter Counter-service has a lot of options. We just split a chicken quesadilla meal. It was huge and had rice and beans and they add extra lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream and quacamole for free if you ask. Hubby and I could barely finish it splitting it. They also have a huge muffaletta sandwich with pasta salad. Definite share meal as well.

Wolfgang pucks express in Downtown Disney has huge portions and good prices and is a counter service credit. EASY to split meals there.
Rainforest Cafe and T-rex both have huge portions. They are pricey but you definitey have MORE than enough to share and have leftovers. They are not on the dining plan.

For huge snacks try goofy's candy company at DTD for a make your own treat. Huge!
Or i've seen a lot of chatter about the Dinoland and Mainstreet bakery ice cream sandwiches. (2 HUGE cookies with 3 scoops of ice cream) or the Mainstreet bakery cinnamon rolls that are as big as your hand.

I have not met many Disney restaurants where I felt the meals were small. Allears.net has a complete list of menus and prices. One thing is certain, nobody ever goes hungry at Disney.

I used to think largest was 50's PTC but after eating at Yak/Yeti twice, it's definitely that place. One portion is large enough to feed a family of 5.

Smallest portions would be Ca Grill.

Le Cellier did have very small portions.

We had bigger portions at Chefs de France and Tutto Italia. Maybe it just feels that way because pasta fills you up, but I ordered the Macaroni at Chefs and Lasagna at Tutto and wasn't able to finish.

50s Prime Time had a nice portion size and underneath my pot roast was a huge pile of mashed potatoes.

The Terryaki strip steak at Kona was also huge, with broccolini and a lot of mash.

Another vote for 50's Prime Time! Huge portions...

Also our lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern had very large portions. Have fun!

Are you guys usually on the dining plan? I wondered if they would allow that if you are on the plan. There will be 5 of us in the party-- 2 adults and 3 kids. Kids are all over 9 yo (10 yo) but picky and I'm certain could share a meal, but I was unsure if everyone sitting at the table HAD to use dining credits. I know they do for a buffet, but I didn't know about menu meals.

No, not everyone *has* to use dining credits at the same table. We have had lots of meals where there was a split, some on plan, some not. Some using TiW, some not. Just be sure to communicate w/your server!

I am really surprised, no one has mentioned Coral Reef...for the smallest portion. My appie was soooo tiny ( 3 bites and a swallow of soup) and my lunch meal was definantly on the petite side, especially for the price.
