Which WDW hotels do celebrities stay in?

Um, it most certainly WAS him. I don't know that he was staying at the resort, or whether he was doing an interview or maybe staying at a different resort but came to the pool for a bit for a meeting of some sort? :confused3

We were walking along the path and he was walking towards us while a gal with a briefcase and clip board walked next to him writing a bunch of stuff down as they talked. They stopped in the path and he said "got it?" and she said "yep - I'll be in touch".

They parted and he continued on the path towards us as my eyes grew HUGE when I realized who it was. He walked by us - he smiled and nodded his head as he passed us because he knew that I knew who he was. My husband had already recognized him and just laughed because it took me a minute to comprehend the whole thing. I said in a loud whisper "omg, was that Kenny Chesney?" and I turned around for another look and he was turned around and smiled and tipped his hat at me and continued walking.

Trust me it was him. :thumbsup2

Sorry but I still can't believe it. Huge Kenny fan who sees him 3-4 times a year and just can't imagine he would be at WDW at all let alone a moderate resort. If he was doing an interview poolside he would be in the real islands.

2 years ago we tailgated at one of his shows next to someone who looked JUST like him. Possible it was a look a like.

Was he short? If he was that would help me believe you but I'm sorry, I just can't see it.

we have got in the habit of staying at the Poly club level, and have seen several "celebrities" over the years, almost all are very nice.

once we were making some dining reservations at the concierge desk, and (who I found out later) a famous wrestler interrupted to ask if his limo was at the front yet. very polite guy.

sorry, but I don't remember his name as I do not follow that "sport"

He wasn't much taller than me and I'm 5'5. No clue how tall he is to know whether or not it was him. I'm not a huge Kenny follower to be honest.

And if it makes you feel better to think it wasn't him, I'm ok with that too. You're obviously much more of a fan than I am. ::yes::

I just find it hard to believe that someone who looks THAT much like him, would take someone with them to the pool to take notes while they talked. But I suppose if they are trying to play the part they gotta do it right.

Clearly they fooled me and my husband! :flower3:

We saw Magic Johnson when we were staying at the GF RPC. Michael Eisner was at the YC.

I think there is a decent chance that someone with his looks might have someone with them at the pool. I just can't but it knowing what I know about him.

My sister and I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour a few years ago. Our guide was saying that they'll never sell nights in that room, they do giveaways, Make a Wish, etc. He said they've had celebrities offer BIG bucks and at that point, turned them all down. I think he said Faith Hill & Tim McGraw wanted to have one of their daughter's bdays at Disney and then have all the kids stay in that room and they turned them down. But that was a few years ago, so they might have revised their policy. I bet they show them the room, but I didn't think they allowed anyone to pay to stay there.

I heard from someone who works at Disney that Tom Cruise wanted to come down for a visit, that all the usual VIP locations were sold out so that's how he ended up in the castle. He didn't book it, but it was more along the lines of an upgrade

There's a big debate about the castle suite in another thread in the Theme Parks and Strategy section.

Apparently Mariah Carey never actually got to stay there and was denied. Tom Cruise and Neil Patrick Harris both seemed to make big charity donations and got the suite as a reward so technically they did not buy a night in it directly.

I think it would make sense that now that it is not given away as often people can buy a night in it, but then again it would be such a high demand room it may be tough to.

The woman was wearing a pencil skirt, blazer and heels...and was carrying a briefcase and taking notes while they talked. It wasn't just someone hanging out with him at the pool. It appeared to be a business discussion.

Why would someone do that as a fake? And then NOT stop and engage with me when I "recognized" him?

Isn't the point of being a fake to actually draw attention to yourself?

But since you go to 3-4 concerts a year you obviously "know him". ;)

I don't know jack about the man but even I know he's a beach bum...it's one of his "things he's known for".
If you WERE Kenny and wanted to NOT be recognized, would you go to a beach or would you go somewhere where when people walk by they don't think it would be you so they keep walking?

Honestly, I could care less either way...but obviously this bothers you enough to try to discredit a "possible" sighting.

Maybe you don't know him as well as you thought by paying to go to so many of his concerts? Or maybe it really wasn't him. Who knows? Now I'll know that next time I need to ask for some ID before I fall for a fake. ;)

I thought you were ok with me believing what I want. Guess you have to be right...

It just bothers me because he does not strike me as someone who would go to WDW so I wonder why he would be there. I don't know him personally but I know a lot about him as fan. I think everyone can relate and knows a lot about someone.

Yes he is a "beach bum" but he has a house in the islands and a boat. Why would be go to a moderate WDW resort to relax on the beach? Just doesn't make sense to me.

It is possible for someone to look like a celebrity and not want a bunch of attention. People look like him that would be at WDW for business and may not be trying to make money off of looking like him.

You can believe what you want and I can believe what I want because I just don't believe he spends time at WDW.

He owns a house and boat in the Caribbean that is private and secluded! Why would he be having business meetings at WDW?

I just think it was someone who looks like him and was there for a conference. Possible gets that he looks like Kenny often and smiled because you were looking at it. Just a businessman who doesn't want the attention.

I honestly am not trying to prove you wrong, I just want you to know why as a fan it is so hard for me to wrap my head around what you saw.

A year or two ago we attended a Flower and Garden Festival presentation by Genevieve Gorder of HGTV. She said she was staying in the castle room with her parents and her daughter. I don't know if she "bought" it or not, but she told the whole audience so it's not a secret.

I feel like I need to bust in and say...

WHO CARES!?!?!

(I'm sorry but seriously...):upsidedow

As a big Kenny Chesney fan I do just because I can't believe it.

Sorry that one of my interests does not interest you. A lot of things makes me wants to say who cares - know what I do? I don't comment because others are free to talk about what they want.

Maybe you don't know him as well as you think you do (and since you aren't a friend or relative of his, you probably don't). There are plenty of reasons he could have been there.

1. Conducting business
2. Make-a-wish fulfillment
3. He likes those theme rooms.
4. filming a video/commercial etc.
5. Just wanted to annoy his fans.

Of course I don't know him perfectly but it just was shocking to read because of what I do know.

Just because you don't believe it doesn't make it untrue. I'm a huge Kenny Chesney fan myself and while I wouldn't think WDW would be his first choice of vacation spots, I could see him going there.

Nope, I still can't see it. Especially at a moderate resort.

The guy is almost always in the Caribbean! Why is he going to go to a moderate WDW resort?

I'm sure everyone has a celebrity they would think was crazy staying at a WDW resort.

I am not a big Beyoncé fan. What if I said I saw her and Jay-Z poolside at the All Star resorts? Would people rebut that because it is not their style? How I feel about the Kenny Chesney thing...
