Which way do YOU go to Epcot from WL?

We're scheduled for Wilderness Lodge for January. (Am still hoping for a miracle that Poly will drop the rates, but won't bet on it.) Anyway, we'll also have a car. I'd thought the fastest way would be to take the boat to MK, and catch the monorail to TTC, then to Epcot. Would that be faster than driving? Or should we take the bus?

Also, what's the fastest way to the Studios? We actually spend more time at the Studios and Epcot than we do at MK, but booked the WL because of the price and easy access to restauarants at MK resorts.

DH and I have discussed moderate vs. deluxe resorts, and we've been spoiled the past three trips at GF, Poly and BC, with the boats and monorail to the parks. I don't really care for the buses, as they seem to make so many stops. Is it the same for the deluxe resorts? Thanks for any info you can give me.

(Other very helpful people on these boards have said a rental car is fast too. I"m trying to convince DH, but he's skeptical. :confused3 )

Bus or driving are both far, far quicker than the boat to MK-monorail to TTC-monorail to EPCOT route. You'd spend at least 1 hour more on this route than driving or taking the bus.

As far as the Studios from WL, I'd also just take the bus or drive. However, from EPCOT to MGM, you can take the boat from the International Gateway entrance.

We just got back and did both.........took the boat/monorail/monorail once and it was fun and in no way close to an hour....more like 30 minutes total at the most, but granted, this is September. The bus is the likely the best route but not near as fun for a child!

The bus is definitely the fastest!

Does the bus stop at other resorts? I'm ok with Poly and CR, it just seemed that when we were staying at PO, it stopped more frequently?

The WL bus might share with another resort during slower times. Most of the time it has its own bus, but I've had it stop at the Poly a few times, as well. :confused3

I like the boat to MK to TTC to Epcot way, but it's nowhere near as fast as the bus.

I, personally, don't drive anywhere myself while at WDW. :teeth:

We drive everywhere except the MK. It is so easy to get around WDW by car.

Take the bus. During off-peak travel seasons you may share your MGM bus with Poly and GF. Epcot will probably just be WL. There used to be a bus to the TTC (don't know if that still exists) and you can pick up the monorail there.

As for fun transportation, how many kids at WDW really ride a city-style bus on a regular basis.

The way I've heard people talk about the busses, you'd think that there were colonies of festering ebola living aboard!
