Which waterpark for 5 and under?

Haven't gone--but I have been told that Typhoon lagoon, I'd be able to do more with the kids.

I supposed maybe b/c BB has more height restrictions and more of a "thrill" factor..I don't know.

I would evaluate your kids abilities and match it up to the park where they would seem to be able to participate more.

I agree that TL is better for younger kids. We are taking DD3 there in September and can't wait!

We did Blizzard Beach on the 4th of July and my sons (ages 3.5 and 20 mos) had a blast! There is a toddler area and a pre-teen area with slides of varying levels of excitement. My neice (7) was with us too and she had fun along with my older son.

BB ! The young kid area is great and well planned out. Lots of mini slides, water squirting, sandy spots, lots of seating for adults, very well supervised and only two entrances. Right by a bridge to go over to the Ski Patrol Area that is for kids 11/12 and under (but 11/12 is almost too old). A 5 year old can do things there too. They have a lazy river, a great family raft ride and the wave pool is very mild so younger kids can enjoy without getting pounded like TL. Plus the park is a cartoon theme that the kids love.

I would not return to the kiddie area at TL - even though it has been expanded, it is still on the main path and I found it chaotic.

We took my DD (then5) princess: to both water parks last Sept. for the first time. She absolutely loved both! She liked the kids area at BB best but she really enjoyed the wave pool at TL. Even though she is small for her age (at almost 6 she's still only 35 #, 42") she did go on some of the more adult raft rides and had a blast! The family raft ride at BB was fantastic-she had the best time. Both parks have the lazy river, which is nice and relaxing. We didn't go to the water parks in Jan 05 because it was too cold. :cold:

We are definitely going to at least one park this Sept. Hopefully both, depending on weather. If I had to chose only one, I would chose TL. It's my, and my DM66, favorite. How many times can you swim with the sharks? This time my DD may try the shark pool, I hope so!

38 days and counting! :grouphug:

My DD4 loved TL. We all had a great time and she kept saying we were at the beach.... and thats how she remembers it the beach with the slides and waves!!

Also please keep in mind that if you are going between late October and February one of the water parks will be closed for rehab.
