We are going down in April. We have never planned a water park day but think we will this year.
I have no idea which one to go to.

Children: DD 12, DS 10 and DD 6
The 6yo is not a strong swimmer.
Thank you

Our personal preference was Blizzard Beach over Typhoon Lagoon. DD 5 and DS 4 absolutely hated the family raft ride at TL because you get slammed with water non-stop during the entire ride. The family raft ride at BB, though fast, wasn't like this so they enjoyed that a lot more.

You'll get a lot of varying opinions, but we just thought BB had more to offer, more fun slides for a wide variety of folks, we liked the lazy river better, the family raft ride, everything about it. This is kinda funny b/c we had been told prior that TL was better for smaller children. The one thing we liked better about TL was the wave pool, but we couldn't use that much due to the ages of our kids.

One other thing to consider, TL is supposed to go through a major renovation that should be complete by the time you are there. I don't know if this will change the park layout fundamentally, but you should be aware.

I thought the TL ketchakiddie creek area was more kid friendly, especially for the non-swimmers. Lots of water fun without depth.

Depends on what you like. BB has more slides, and is more "exuberent" shall we say? Also the foliage is not as mature there, so it is hotter. TL is beautiful, shaded, more laid back. I enjoyed both lazy rivers. Also there is Shark Reef in TL where you can snorkle. Life jackets are available. My 6yo LOVED it. She is now an avid snorkler.

I like both water parks and will always plan to hit them both when we go. I am not sure if I actually have a preference one over the other. They are just different. I know... not much help :)
