Hi,

First time posting on this board. Have read alot on these boards and have found some great informtion. Thanks to all!

I did have a question about the water parks though. I plan on taking my DD age 8 and DD age 6 to a water park when we are there in October. They are good swimmers but prefer the "not so daring" rides. I was wondering which waterpark would be best (TL, BB, or even Wet n Wild)....

Thanks!

I have only been to typhoon lagoon but it was great. I loved swimming with the sharks everything else is pretty much the same, at least i think so. It depends on you mostly I'd say make a list of what you'd like to see and which ever has more things u want to see go to that park.

I would say BB has the better water slides but now that TL has Crush n Gusher, its a toss up

I’m so sorry I’m responding and can’t help but I was going to post the SAME exact question. Only my children will be 12 and 8.
We have been to Disney more times than I can count but have NEVER been to a Disney Waterpark.
Thinking of maybe doing it for our 10/06 trip since it will be something different and doing something different is what we have been trying to do our last couple of trips.
Although this will be taking away from a “park” day and “gasp” I’m still trying to cope with that thought.
I’m going to ask the kids tonight what they would rather do and take it from there.
Anyway, I can’t wait to see the answers and wonder if all the waterparks stay open during the full month of October.
Thanks to all!

Let me start by saying that I hate water parks! I can ride RnR Coaster and have a blast...but I accused my family of trying to kill me on the Family Raft Ride at BB! And I met a lady at TL who paniced as she came down the slide and had to be rescued by the lifeguard (I saw the whole thing). She and I agreed to leave our families there and go to Downtown Disney! :grouphug:

My son (14) likes BB the best. My daughter (11) likes TL the best. I think you will be happy with either. Blizzard Beach does have a mid-level section - for lack of a better term. They have a section geared toward kids your age with slides that are fun but not quite so high. It may be just what you are looking for.

I like the atmosphere at TL. Being from PA, where it snowed in May, I really dislike going to a waterpark where there is fake snow everywhere. Other than that, they are both very nice.

Having the same debate at our house. DD7 wants to go to a water park for the first time this trip. She is a strong swimmer and a bit of a thrill seeker. She had her heart set on BB, but now has recently read about and saw photos of Crush n Gusher. So, we're still up in the air. Would love to hear other parents' input on which water park worked better for them and why.

Thanks!

My Daughter is now 11 but we have been going to both parks for years. TL is more layed back. I know about the new ride but overall BB is the best! You can play with her in the kids section which :umbrella: is really cool for her age. My daughter loved it when she was eight! Then you can go play with the more daring rides with your older child. TL is a little like the old WET-n-WILD. It is not as updated as BB. If you do decide BB please make sure that you wear swimming shoes. The cement is very hot!!!

Hi! We did TL with DD's at 7 and 9, and just did BB last week with them at 9 and 11. Our family voted for our favorite, and I voted for TL while the other three voted for BB. TL was awesome for us a few years ago...we LOVED swimming with the sharks and all of the slides. BB does have a better family raft ride and some really neat slides to try. Younger DD didn't want to try some of them, but she loved the mat slides that you ride head first on your belly...something I would never have thought she'd like at all. In October, it won't be quite so hot so even though BB is not so shady, you'll be fine. BB was also voted the #1 water park in America. You can't lose either way, they're both wonderful and so much nicer than any other water parks. Have fun for us! :flower:

IMHO Typhoon Lagoon's theming is much more lush, relaxing and visually interesting. I was a tad dissapointed with Blizzard Beach's grounds, the area seemed cheap compared to Typhoon Lagoon. But then again, I am from Montreal so snow is the absolute last thing I want to see when I go to WDW!!! pirate:

We just finished year around passes at the DIS water parks. We came to the conclusion:

Before I make any comments you should get to know who the critics are:
Hubby 48
Mom (me) 40
son 10

We think that Blizzard Beach is for teenagers and people who are braver and for people who like climbing a big hill in the sun. That tobaggan ride killed my back

We think that Typhoon Lagoon has more stuff to do together as a family.
(the wave pool and the slides won't kill your back)
