Of all of the jobs that you have had, which was your favorite?

I liked photographing baseball games the most. One of my co-workers said "Everybody hates this job, but it looks good on a resume." I didn't hate that job. I loved photographing the Giants and the fans. It was just too unsteady in addition to being seasonal.

Which of your jobs was your favorite and why?

I'm currently working my favorite job ever - I'm a Paramedic. :cool1:

I've worked in Broadcasting nearly my whole working life, 30 years, but my FAVORITE job was working with the elderly in an independent living resort. I was, what I called, a "resident professional grandchild"! :lmao:

I had the best time with those incredible people and if the pay wasn't so horrendous I'd be doing it till this day.:thumbsup2

Working for a doctor as a medical records tech.. Although her colleagues often called her "the dragon lady", she took quite a shine to me from day one and I really enjoyed that job.. She could be difficult at times - had very, very strict guidelines she expected her employees to follow - but the job was a real learning experience for me.. As time went on, I was given more and more duties and it was just a great all-around experience..:thumbsup2

I just mentioned it in a thread about the Yankees.

The first job I had out of college was at Standard & Poor's where I was an assistant to two institutional salesmen. What a fun place to work! We were at the tip of Broadway and had front row "seats" to any ticker tape parades. Being on the 16th floor, we could had a great view of New York harbor, which was quite a sight when it was full of boats celebrating the reopening of the Statute of Liberty after renovations. (This was in 1986 or 87.)

I went to some very fancy parties and went home afterward in company-paid towncars. Went to some very chic restaurants on the tab too, like LeCirque and the Russian Tea Room.

One time, I got to bring some paperwork over to a client at American Express's HQ in the World Financial Center. This was a building connected by a pedestrian bridge to the World Trade Center. Am Ex was having their annual board of directors meeting, and I had to wait for a break to deliver my papers. I got to meet Jim Robinson, CEO of Am Ex at the time, and see Gerald Ford and Henry Kissinger (and their Secret Service detail) in the same room. Now that was cool!

I work in the county's special education department now. It's not at all glamorous like my days at S&P, but once in a while, I get to help people out in very meaning ways, so it's not bad. I get a lot of paid time off, and I telecommute two or three days a week, so I can't complain.

Manager of a commission system for a telecom company.

The job had heavy responsibility, which I loved, and I worked with the most awesome and fun co-workers ever. I still miss those guys, but we keep in touch via email. *sigh* the good ole days.

My favorite job was a cash office clerk at K-Mart when I was in high school. I worked part time at night and counted the pick up (extra money picked up from each register). In the summer I filled in for vacations during the day and helped count the daily totals from each register.

I later did this at Toys R us for Christmas season but during the rest of the year a store manager counts the money.

I was a also a bank teller but that wasn't nearly as fun because you had to deal with idiot customers. At the bank I did enjoy counting the night deposit bags before the bank opened. I later applied for a job doing that only but never got a call back.

Of course there was also the amazing job of MOTHERHOOD. The kids are all now grown and gone and I can't believe how much I miss all the chaos. Some days a thought, sight, sound, or song brings back all those memories and I just start crying because I miss those kids so much.

I have much to be thankful for.

Best jobs ever have been Laser Tag arena, Cake decorating, and Community Outreach coordinator for a Cemetery/Funeral Home/Crematory. I really enjoyed being a hoagie sandwich maker in college too! Sub sandwiches are like my Favorite food on Earth so I really enjoyed trying to make great ones for other people!:woohoo:

Worst job EVER was Director of an Alzeheimer's Unit :headache:

Young Adult librarian at a small town library. I love books, love libraries and love working with teens AND the hours were perfect (20 per week over 3 days) and I really liked my co workers.

I've had a couple. In the mid 80's I worked full time drumming in a showband that was touring up and down the coast of Queensland. We spent a lot of time in different resorts and had some long stays and fun times, which I would go into more detail, except that this is a family friendly forum and "what happens on tour, stays on tour" ;)

When it comes to short term jobs, I played drums on a Wiggles christmas album and their movie soundtrack a while ago, which was a lot of fun. My daughter, who was very young at the time thought it was great. :thumbsup2

Assistant manager in a small college bookstore. :lovestruc I made barely above minimum wage, but I adored that job. I left to get a degree because I was so tired of watching young college grad after young college grad get promoted to manager of their own store, then fail miserably, but I wouldn't even get a shot at a manager position despite knowing every aspect of the job.

There are times when I wish I'd just stayed in that dinky little position because I was so happy there despite the lack of money.

My favorite job ever was working as a cashier in the local movie theater back when I was 17. This was before multi-plex theaters became common so I only had to work the first 15 minutes of every film, we only had 2 at at time and after that it was all goofing off with friends. The final plus was that I saw everyone who went to the movies so I knew who was dating who and who was hanging out with who... oh and all the parties I got invited to go to because I was so very much 'there'. I didn't get paid much but it was so much fun! Yep, the best job ever:goodvibes

Sewing names on mouse ears at The Chapeau Hat Shop on Main Street, USA.

That was a long, long time ago... :sad2:

At this point, I would say any job besides my current job. Never ever work for a credit bureau. The nastiness and maltreatment are not to be believed.

As for what I enjoyed, working in scheduling at Houston Lighting and Power was nice. I also my stint working for the Census way back when.

I'm jealous! Another book lover here.. That would definitely be a "dream" job..:thumbsup2

I currently have my favorite job. Nurse Anesthetist. I really enjoy it!

As for prior jobs, I enjoyed being a Nanny very much. I loved my little girls but dealing with parents was downright exasperating. I miss the children but not some of the crazier parents.

My favorite job was my very first job when I worked at Mail Boxes Etc.

The owner was a friend of the family and the supervisor was my dad. Then the other regular employee was my best friend. We always had so much fun while we worked even during the busy Christmas season.

In college I took a part time job working as an "interpretive presenter" at a living history site. Loved it. Learned something new every day. Did things you never get to do in a "real" job, like chop wood with an antique axe in the middle of a winter windstorm. Helped to educate the public. Got great "home cooked" meals every afternoon. Met seriously interesting people who 100% loved their jobs and never wanted to do anything else with their lives. Ended up getting married at the chapel on site.

Every job I've had since then has been a serious let-down.

Firefighter back in late 60's, 70's & early 80's. I never should have left that. Best group of guys I ever worked with.
