Which wait times app is the most accurate?

I read a few different threads on here talking about different apps, MDE wait time inflation at night and the actual lines feed being shut done. Some of the information seems to contradict other info in different threads.

So do any of the apps have access to accurate wait times and if so which app is the more reliable?

I agree the Lines app from Touring Plans is very handy and for the most part accurate, its saved me having to trek across the park if I knew the lines when I got there would be massive. I also like that you have the ability to update them yourself while in line so that other guests are getting up to date information based on how long your wait is. There is a subscription fee to use this app though. Undercover Tourist just launched one as well which I think it free atm but I haven't used so can't recommend.

I signed up for TP for the planning portion if the site. Good to know that the wait time portion is reliable. I feel like I got a two for one deal now. ;)

Last trip we compared both. THe disney App was way off by many minutes. where the Lines one was right on. Next trip I relied heavily on the LINES and it did not disappoint. We do add it wait times too to help other people.

A good rule of thumb to follow is that the posted waits are about 4x the actual waits late at night. This helps to manage the crowd and steer folks away from the headliners, but can be used to your advantage if you know how the system works.

The official wait times were pretty unreliable during my trip in May 2013. Ariel M&G had a 120 minutes posted wait time. I met her in 5-10 minutes stand-by. On the contrary, Mickey M&G had a 4 minute posted wait time. The moment I went in, I knew it’d be more like 40 minutes. It took about 30-40 minutes. The line was still massive when I went out of Town Square. Posted wait time for Mickey remained at 4 minutes!
Too bad I don’t have any smart devices so I can take advantage of these apps

Definitely "Lines". Was just about dead-on for my trip in late May. The App itself is free but like others have mentioned there is a subscription fee for some features.

Thanks for asking this. I registered with Touring Plans a while ago but never thought about them having an app. Just downloaded it now and the information they provide is great. Looking forward to putting it into practice in September and until then lots of wasted time at my desk just seeing how busy/quiet rides are.

I purchased both the WDW and US ones (you can do the US one for a $6 upgrade) and both are great. I started looking at the time in both apps compared to the MDE app. It's interesting to see the differences.
