We are planning a Disney trip next year and we are using our rci for a Disney stay not sure which villas we want to stay at Bay lake or AKL, Saratoga, Boardwalk, and the others ones I'm leaning towards Bay lake cause im a MK fan. Since it s me hubby and our four kiddos we are getting the 2bdr villas need the space lol ;) just curious since we have a large family which one would you do:crowded::clown::listen::listen:

If your favorite park is MK, I would stay at BLT because of the easy access (monorail or walking).

Have you done a search on RCI to see what is available at this point for your dates? Depending on your trading power, you might be limited with what you can get.

You get the most square footage at OKW. We've stayed at OKW, SSR and AKL. Loved them all for their unique characteristics. My least favoriate was AKL. But the only reason being is the room was too dark for my taste. I like the brighter and seemingly more 'luxurious' rooms of OKW and SSR. I think SSR would be my favorite if it were only a tad more lush as far as palm trees goes, etc. Since it's based on upstate New York you get a little more of a northeast feel. And since I'm from the northeast I don't want to see it down there! But they're all fantastic. ;)

I think each Villa has its own special characteristics. OKW has the most space, SSR - you can walk to DTD, AKL - you can get a savannah view room, BLT - walk to MK and Monorail to EPCOT, BCV - walk to EPCOT and boat to DHS(plus they have an awesome pool) and BWV - Walk to EPCOT and either walk or Boat to DHS(plus they offer standard view which can save significant $). For us the winner is always BWV because of the ability to walk to 2 of the 4 parks, the standard view room savings and the great atmosphere of the boardwalk itself(also DHS & EPCOT are our 2 favorite parks). My second choice would be BCV.

If you have young children and love MK, then I would try for BLT. I haven't stayed BLT, but I have stayed at CR and the ease of the monorail and walking distance to MK is so nice.

Last summer we stayed in a 2BR villa at OKW. Wow! It was so nice and gave us a lot of room. We were a group of 6 adults and 1 child, so it was nice to be able to spread out and have some privacy. We also really enjoyed the main pool at OKW.

Well OKW sounds great I like the idea of AKL kaidani lol however u spell it the thought of looking out to see animals is cool. My older girls may like that. Might freak out my 3 yr old lol. But BLV calls me lol. Lots of planning to do just super excited about going period I be happy at pop lol! Thank you all for your input. Keep em coming first vacation with four kiddos this should be fun any advice on making this a fun trip without my girls trying to hurt each other j/k

This is a very good point. Haven't done trades through RCI but back when DVC used to trade through Interval, it was hard to get much other than Old Key West or Saratoga Springs, especially if you are looking for larger units. I did see Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge pop up maybe once but only for studio units. And I would search for any week in June typically and there was most availability for the earlier weeks. I believe you are at the mercy of what DVC wants to put out there and they won't put out what is booked up by their members already or likely to be taken by a member.

Well just found out that as far that our rci goes we have rci weeks with maxium trading power we r in the red so we go from January all the way to December which I think is pretty cool. Now we have to fig out when to go I rather go in between thanksgiving n Xmas right around DH bday but he thinking before that. Idk

BLT is a nice location, but the villas are fairly small in comparison to some of the other resorts. If space is important to you, then OKW has larger villas. SSR is a huge resort, making it more likely you'll be able to get a reservation there. Transportation this past December was efficient and the walk to DTD was super easy. I'd recommend Congress Park area.

This is not quite true. OKW is by far the largest in terms of room size and everything is small compared to it. But BLT and AKV Kidani have the next largest 1br and 2br villas on property.

The other advantage of BLT is that the 2br has THREE full bathrooms. Only BLT and AKV Kidani have this feature.

Thanksgiving to Christmas is one of the hardest time to get rooms due to the holidays. If you are trying for this year, mostly everything is booked. A lot of waitlisting is going on. But good luck. I hope you get what you want.

I have points at BLT and AKV. Love the convenience of BLT to MK but love the serenity of AKV. Both have the extra bathrooms in the 1 and 2 br villas. Jambo House doesn't have the extra bathroom.

It is good to do your research and know which resorts you prefer but do not get your heart set on one resort. It just may not be available when you need it. Even DVC members are not able to get exactly what they want when they want it unless they book first thing in the morning 11 months ahead and are an owner at that resort.

I totally agree our trip is not until next year. I'm open to any of the resorts just blt is my first choice.

BLT - has the acess to MK, monorail, contemp, nice pool w/ slide

OKW - most space inside the room, boat to DTD, nice pool w/slide

SSR - calm atmosphere, boat to DTD, nice pools (2 w/ slides!!:cool1:)

BC - IK this resort was not on your list but: EPCOT access, awesome pool, walk to HS

If you chose any of these you would be making the right choice!

Enjoy your trip to WDW!!!
