I'm thinking about getting DH and my boys 4 and 6 one for Christmas. We haven't had one so I am looking at one of the older models. Which one would be best for us with kids that age, Nintendo, Playstation, or Xbox? Thanks!

I'm no help to you.....because we're not a 'gaming' family. BUT

I went to game stop, and looked at the different games available for the playstations, xbox, and game cube. To be honest, my 9 and 10 DD's would be perfectly happy with all the game cube games. So thats what I went with for DD9. For christmas, I've also bought her, Finding Nemo, Shrek 2, a Mario game (blanking on the real title), ATV racing, and Need For Speed 2. We played the Shrek game when we bought the system, because we bought the used one for 59.99 I also added the 1-year replacement for 9.99. I had to make sure it worked lol...

Maybe, if we were into game systems, we'd have gone with an X-Box type, but really this will suit our family fine. And, the games seem to be cheaper than the other systems, even full priced at walmart etc.. they are cheaper than the ps2 or xbox 360 games.

I think for us, we made the right decision....good luck because this could be expensive!

Get the game system that has the shortest wait line!!!!!! :teeth:

Saw a line for wifiii( ???) outside of WalMart yesterday...people camped out in the cold for over 24 hours!!!!

Anyhoooooo My Vote is for PS2! Very well used here, never breaks, easy to purchase & rent games for!...and NO lines to purchase! :thumbsup2

For that age (4 and 6yrs), I'd go for a Nintendo - the games tend to be more children friendly. XB and PS consoles' target audience is 15-35yr old males, so many of the games would be too adult for young children.

GameCube and the new Wii are both Nintendo consoles (and the Wii plays GC games as well as Wii games).

If you are going for the older models, get a Gamecube.:thumbsup2 The older kids ditch the Cube at around 9-10-11. By that time they will want the latest game system on the market.

Plus once the Wii price drops the Gamecube games can be played on it. :thumbsup2

By for "now" with a game system...::yes::

My DS' are older 24&20 but they are away in Scotland so I cannot ask them...but I would go to like an ELECTRONIC BOUTIQUE (one of the game stores) and talk to them. Those people are soooo smart about game systems. Tell them about your family and see if they can suggest a system for you!!! :thumbsup2
