Finally going to the "World" with my almost 15 yo, just mom & teen (leaving guys at home). I've got a Dining pin but we've always stayed at Mods. Since we're trying to stay on a tight "budget" and values are coming in at $110 that's where we'll stay... Have stayed off property but seems like everything is in the $100 range there too and don't know if I want to deal w/car (going week through Sunday/Mem. weekend). So which value would you choose and why. It's been 6 years since our last visit so we're probably going to do one park a day.
Thanks

I like Pop. The cafeteria is great, I love the little decade scenery they have, and the rooms are decent.

I'm going with my DD (18) and leaving guys at home. We are staying at Movies only cuz of budget. We are also going over Memorial Day weekend.
Friend stayed at Movies and she said it was wonderful. I think, anywhere at WDW, is good!

I like ASMusic. They were so nice when we stayed there last (usually stayed at Movies or Sports). I have never had bus trouble (people will tell you that you have to share busses with the other AS resorts, but typically when it is a busy time you have your own bus. (also - it is no different than busses stopping at multiple stops at the mods or multiple deluxes! :goodvibes) I like AS over POP because it isn't as big....as it is 3 different resorts vs. 1

At ASMu, there are activities by the pool starting around 3pm. Activities include a DJ, changing of the lifeguards, a giant beach ball in the pool and a Wii competition. A movie by the pool, concludes the activities for the day. When staying at All Stars you can use any of the other resorts amenities. I agree with the PP, as to multiple bus stops at moderates and deluxe. Nobody seems to bring that point up when discussing buses at All Stars.

Pop.

Better food court. Doesn't share buses with any other resort. Theming is a little less "childish" and might appeal to teen better.

Thanks for the comments... everyone...
I just got a laugh at my "typo". Is there a food court at each AS or are some shared. We've stayed at Coronado S several times over the years... really like the Pepper Market for QS. Might even stop by one night to see what's "changed" (can't believe it's been 6 years... we used to go almost every year).
Any other tips... wish I priced out tickets before we locked in air since there isn't much $$ between 4 days or higher. Not sure if we're going to splurge with the hopper this time. I truly wished there was a room only discount since DD doesn't really eat much and I'm sure we're going to have credits left over.

I vote for All Stars Music. We love the pool activities and have never had a bus issue. We find the food court less crowded than the one at POP.

We have only stayed at Pop and my teens love it and don't want to try any place else.

My DDs and I did a girls trip for 4 nights over spring break...DH had to work. Our oldest is 14 (will turn 15 in June) and Pop is her favorite Value. Our favorite mod is Coronado Springs. Just be prepared the food courts at the values, while good, do not compare to Pepper Market in our opinion.

Have fun!

Pop. Best food court, best arcade, and doesn't share busses... BUT you need to be aware at the end of the night, the line at the busses are always the busiest for Pop Century. IF you are leaving at closing from any park I highly recommend sitting and relaxing with a treat for a bit to reduce the line time.

I have two teens who give it a :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2. DS is turning 16 and this is the first year he has asked to try a new resort.

We have never had a bad stay there. Feel free to ask any questions.

Nothing is shared. They all have seperate main buildings that house the front desks, food courts, gift shops, etcetera...

However all the Allstar resorts share buses.

That's why I would choose POP that has it's own unshared buses.

I've stayed twice at ASMovies back in the 90's and loved it, no trouble with buses. I've stayed at ASMusic once almost 3 years back and again the buses being shared were not an issue and will be staying at the Music again in a few weeks. A lot of folks say Pop because it doesn't share a bus, I've not stayed there, but again even though the All Stars share it hasn't been an issue. They tend to run extra buses for the All Stars since they all share.

My vote would be for Pop Century - have stayed there several times and have always had a good experience. We have stayed at all 3 All Stars and they are fine as well - pick the one with the theme you like the best. They do share busses though, so depending on which one you stayed at you could have a stop or two before you get to yours.

When we are adding days to our trip before our DVC stay we always pick the All Star Sports. We ask for the Football building as it is closer to the bus stop (1st stop to p/u and let off as well), closer to food court, etc.

POP is my favorite of the Values. It has it's own bus and is the newest of the Values until the new one opens next year. If you ask for a preferred room you won't have a long walk. Last time we were a building away from the Hippo pool. It was very quiet and on ground level. You can see what it looks like in my trip report. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2337135

We have stayed at all four values, but All Star Music is by far our favorite! Its true that the themeing isnt as "exciting" as the others, but I think the perk to that is because it isnt as exciting, we find it to be the least crowded of all the value resorts. So hands down, we are going to pick the place with less crowds everytime! We prefer the food court selections at the Music as well. My favorite meal is the steak salad and my sons is the chicken quesadilla, two things that arent offered at the Pop. (unless that has changed in the last few months.) Even though my boys are older we get a kick out of watching the kids activities at the pool. The activitiy directors are top notch. In fact last summer, we stayed at the Music for the beginning of the vacation, before moving to the Beach Club. Hands down the activities at the Music were carried out 110% better then the Beach Club! Its true the All-Stars share buses, but not for the Magic Kingdom, so that park is a direct ride.

Another vote for Pop Century! Best food court and awesome themes for an a teen (or adult!). I would say ASMo for the younger crowd.

We have stayed at all four resorts. The three All Stars are basically identical but have different themes. Downfall is that they do share buses.

We prefer Pop because it is very near the marketplace which we like to go to. Last year when we went the free dining at the value resorts only had counter service but you could upgrade to the sit down. I don't know if that matters to you. Also we stayed in the 70's building in the b section nearest classic hall facing the parking lot. Very, very short walk to the buses.
