We have stayed at POR our last two trips, but now that our girls (we are a family of 5) are entering their teenage years we are thinking that two adjoining rooms would be better. We are wondering which value resort is the best choice for us. Any suggestions. Also, we are taking my adult brother, so there will be 6 of us in all. Thanks for any help!

I have honestly enjoyed POP the last two trips our family did. In fact, we were considering adjoining rooms this time around, until my wife got a 40% PIN.

POP is fine. The kids love it. Several pools. The food court is pretty good. It is pretty spread out, but if you book a preferred location, you should be OK.

Iv'e never been to Disney world im going my 1st time in January 2011 i personally am staying in POP because of ALLLL the research iv'e done and reviews iv'e read, not to mention pics and feedback from every helping person-so personally i havent experienced it but out off all >4< of the Value Resorts im choosing POP for my 1st wonderful stay ! LoL :cool1:

DH and I recently returned from our third stay at POP. We like it, obviously. 2 of the 3 times we were placed in a room by the lake - no other value has that. The food court is great - never had any trouble finding a seat. Rooms have always been very clean and well maintained. No room is far from a pool or the buses and the food court. I'll go back as soon as DH gives the word.

Have you considered the family suites at ASMu? We stayed there last summer as a family of 5 and just loved it!! The 2 bathrooms were great and each kid had their own bed. DH and I got a queen sized bed, instead of the usual double you get in a value, and the mini-kitchen area was fabulous for doing breakfast each morning to save time and $. There were movies by the pool each night, along with games and music and the food court had great options.

I've only stayed at ASMu, but it was great! I had no complaints! Plus they have family suites which might actually work out better for your family than adjoining rooms!

I have stayed at ASMo, ASSp and POP. Our favorite was by far POP. The bus rides didn't seem to be as long. The waits generally weren't very long for a bus out of 4 stays it seems like we only had long waits for buses a handful of times. We like the food court and the pools as well.

stayed at all of them - love POP - that say big fan of lakes...:goodvibes

it has one - the other values did not.

We love POP. I have no other value to compare it to but I will when we stay at ASMo this Aug.
The lake at POP is so nice plus they are refurbing the rooms there this year.

We have stayed at POP and ASMu and ASMu is hands down our fav:cloud9: We have stayed in a reg room and a family suite and for your party size, I would definitely get the suite. Separate sleeping quarters, two bathrooms, a kitchen equipped with a fridge, micro, sink and coffee maker. Plus plates, bowls, cutlery, cups and tonnes of storage. All for about the same as getting two rooms(and getting connecting rooms is not guaranteed)We ate breaky in our room each am to get a quick start to the day.

The resort itself is smaller so less people at the pools, foodcourts and waiting to get on the busses to and from the parks ect. And while we have been there(week-long stays at the end of Sept x2) we only shared busses with the other ALLStars maybe a couple of times. Not the big hassle people are afraid of it being by our experience, at ALL.

The also have fun games by the pool and movies by the pool at night, which are a great way to unwind after a long day at the parks.

Good luck to you!

We chose Pop this year because they do not share transportation with other resorts. I like the idea of not having a bunch of other stops to make on our way to and from the parks.

I do worry about how loud everyone says it is since we booked a preferred room (which to me spells in the line of traffic), but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless.

I agree with everybody who says Pop because of its bus transportation and awesome theming. Our first trip to WDW, we stayed in Sports but really hated waiting in line for buses. Also, I forgot which resorts, Music, Sports, or Movies, but they sometimes share the same buses so you have to stop at other resorts before the bus takes you to yours. This was extremely annoying late at night when all we wanted was to get off our legs and get into bed. I recommend Pop.

We've done all 4 Values. I used to think that Music was my favorite, but after our last trip, I have changed my mind as I don't care for the new room decor in the renovated Values resorts. It's too generic and no longer "fun" & kitschy. (if you don't like kitschy - none of the values are for you!) It's cheap furniture designed to look like more expensive furniture. It's not - it just looks like they went to Wal-mart to buy their furnishings.

I still like the AS Movies as they haven't renovated their rooms. You can enjoy the Fantasia pool or walk over the Music pool for more activities if that interests you.

Pop is nice too, but we've always felt it was a little too big. Yes, they're all big resorts, but the All-Stars seemed to be a little less stressful. Perhaps it's because the landscaping is more mature and the buildings are shorter (3 stories vs 4 stories at Pop).

We generally don't use Disney transportation, so I can't recommend anything there. We did try it at the Music last year and it was horrible when we did try it. However, I would never choose a resort solely based on bus service as you could find it bad while someone else will find it good.

Overall, I'd choose the resort with the theme that best matches your family's likes.
