Hi All,

I am newbie, so this question may have already been asked.

Which Value Resort do you prefer and why? We are looking at visiting one in June after school closes for summer vacation. My two girls seem to prefer the All Star Sports, based on brochure pictures. I would like to base the decision on some objective opinions.

Thanks.

I have stayed at sports, music and movies. They are all basically the same but have different themes. It really depends on what theme you like. We liked the movies better because we like the disney movies. Century Pop is new and also has its own theme. We will be staying here in the summer. But really the first three mentioned are pretty much the same, room size, food court, pools, etc. Just the decor is different i.e. disney movies, musical instruments and sports.

I've never stayed at the All Stars, but I stayed at Pop Century in November. I LOVED it!!! :)

I have stayed at all three all stars and just returned from a week at pop century (12-18 thru 12-26). I would pick pop century as my favorite. Buses were the best (imho). It was a very quick bus ride to MGM, Epcot and AK. MK was the longest. We liked the food court and my kids (and grandpa) loved the arcade! We had a short walk to the buses and food court. We also liked the bar at the food court to have a night cap if we wanted. The all stars do not have a inside bar (they have one by the pool). We also liked the lake (made it feel more like a moderate than the all stars) and you can see Illuminations. I would definately pick staying there again over the all stars.

DH and I have stayed at Music and Movies. I loved Movies. We didn't try Sports because well I'm not into sports.

And I can't wait to try Pop Century.

We've stayed at ASMo and loved it, also at Pop and loved it more. The buses at Pop are better, they only service Pop, the All Stars buses go to all 3 (Movies, Music and Sports) this makes for a longer ride.
Also, the bar at Pop is good, if you like a drink at night. This said, my DD's liked the icons better at ASMo!
It's a tough decision, but it is a win-win decision! :wave2:

Another vote for ASMo. It is our favorite, hands down. We have stayed at all 3 All Stars and at POP. My kids love the movie icons the best and I feel the beds are more comfortable, the A/C is much cooler, and the food court has better offerings than POP. Just my humble opinion. They're all great though, the previous poster summed it up quite nicely, it is a win-win situation!

We have only stayed at Movies, and my kids LOVE the resort. If it were up to them we would always stay there. Unfortunately, we have outgrown the rooms there, and my kids are two small for 2 rooms.

I would recommend the Pop, not because we have tried it yet (will be there for part of our April trip) but b/c it is newer and has dedicated buses. For busy June, transportation will be very important. I would also recommend for a June trip to request a fridge in your room ($10 extra I think).

The great thing about Sports, Music, and Movies is that they are all together. My DD and I had fun last year walking through all three and taking pictures of the icons. We stayed in Music and used the Sports busstop since it was the first to load and unload (values share buses during slow times)

I have stayed at All Star Music and Pop Century. I prefer Pop Century, though I certainly enjoyed my stays at All Star Music as well. Here are the little things that I enjoyed a bit more about Pop Century:

--Theme--I loved touring the resort to see how Disney represented each decade so cleverly. I also enjoyed looking at all the shadow boxes in the lobby filled with memorabilia from each decade. I just thought the theme was very well done here.

--Convenience--I like that Pop Century has a dedicated bus (the All Stars share a bus). It made it easier for us to get seats, and our experience with the busses was great.

--Little Details--I like that the curtains in the rooms are on two overlapping tracks so the sunlight can't creep through the windows when you're trying to catch some z's. I like the look of the furniture at Pop better than at All Star Music. I like the fact that there is no soap/shampoo dispenser in the shower--I guess I just don't like the look of it for some crazy reason.

Either way, have a wonderful trip!

:teeth: :teeth: We LOVE Pop!!! :teeth: :teeth:
Everything is GREAT about it!! Also it's the newest of Value Resorts AND they give you the Mickey Soaps and Shampoo's!!

Shonnel :earsgirl:

They are ALL great, but if I had to put them in order (of the ones I have stayed at/family member has) I would say

BEST --- > Pop Century
Second BEST ---> All Star Movies
Third BEST ---> All Star Sports

In the end, if your like my family and go to WDW to sleep in the room, any value will be great! They are all very similar, some just have a few more options/qualities that people prefer.

Have a great time.

I have never stayed at AS Sports. I'm not into sports or the theming. I also don't want to stay there because it looks worn and dingy in the main building.

I like ASMusic because it is situated in between both of the other resorts. It makes a nice evening stroll to visit the others to see icons, visit the gift shops, etc. When I stayed at music we were in the jazz building. It was very quite (but off-season) and peaceful. We were very close to our car.

I like ASMovies for the icons and the wonderful family feel. This is definately the most "Disney-fied" of the resorts. Even though there were larger crowds, I never felt like it was too loud.

I like Pop for its theming--I'm a history geek. I love the patterns, colors and trendy stroll down memory lane. I like the "freshness" and "sparkle" the resort has since it is new. Parking is not as good here though and this resort seems more sprawling than the AS. For some reason the decor of the room makes it feel larger, especially in the bathroom. For a couples quick get-away this would be my top choice.

I found the CM at all three to be very helpful and pleasant and the food courts at all had a wide-range of selections. All the rooms are basically the same, so it depends on the theming that you and your family would like best.

I stayed in ASMo and I loved it. I'm not a big fan of Sports..so that's why I did not stay there. I also did not think that I would like ASMu but it looked very nice inside. We stayed in the preferred room @ ASMo and it was close to the pool and the main building. I really loved the theme of the resort. I would definately stay there again. :wizard:
