Me and my 6 year old are going alone to Disney this year.(DH and DS 13 are going on a hunting trip) Which value resort do you fell is the safest or most comfortable for a singel adult and child to stay at?
Thanks Nettii:goodvibes

stay at Pop Century solo many times.

also for your son age group - All Star Movie.

both are fairly safe - but just remember don't let your guard down. even at WDW people get robbed all the time.

would get a fanny pack to carry stuff - more control than a backpack - so while watching your son you don't have to worry about your stuff.

The values are all pretty much the same as far as the rooms go. POP is the newest and has its own bus transportation, but I think All Star Sports or ASMo (with the large icons) may be right up his alley.

You will be safe at any of the Disney locations.

I travel solo with my child a lot. The is a certain safety that you just can feel at Disney. I like POP, but I have also stayed at ASMu and liked it there also. Having common sense is a must of course. Be aware of your surroundings, etc... But traveling as the only adult is not too bad.

Traveled alone with my daughter 2 years ago, when she was 10, and we had a great time. Stayed at All Star Movies and loved it -- actually going back this August but with my mom along this time. I felt completely safe and was very happy with the All Star Movies resort. Have never stayed at POP but I'm sure they're all wonderful.

I travel to WDW with my DD frequently -- DH is not a disney guy. We stayed at POP for our last two trips and really liked the resort a lot.

DS and I have done several trips without rest of gang. We were at POP twice (7 night & 10 night) and felt completely safe the entire trip, and even when coming back in our car from MNNSHP at 1:30 in the morning, walking across parking, through resort to room at back by lake. Even at that hour there were folks swimming, walking and CMs buzzing about. Very well lit at all hours. Last month we stayed at ASMu and it is very dark there. I'm sure the quiet and dark were great for many, but I was very uncomfortable walking around and to the food court area. After the PPP Party, even though I could see our room from car, we ran the entire way. Now nothing happened to us, but there was no comfort zone there for me (and I'm not easily bothered).......it was also the first time we had ever had other guests yell rude things and saw security called to a room by us. :confused3 Now all the CMs there were great, Mousekeeping was awesome, and the new rooms are nice, but heading back to POP in September :)
