Which Vacation is Right for Me?

I just did it. Pretty far off base from what I would actually want. It suggested Art of Animation staying through Christmas Eve. No thanks.

That is exactly what I got. I put in flexible dates. It gave me a 7 night trip at AOA with 8 park days, 2 in each park and the quick service dining plan. We have stayed moderate once (and loved POR) and been deluxe very other trip (our last several trips have either been EPCOT area where we can walk to 2 parks or monorail resorts). We eat at least 1 TS every day, and if we do a TS breakfast or brunch, then we might eat a TS dinner too. While, I would be fine with staying at AOA and I think it looks like a fun resort- I would definitely say is really off base from our typical trip. If I was doing the dining plan, there is no way it would be the CS plan.

I did it again for fall dates and it gave me CBR in a pirate room and everything else the same.

I had all the food preferences checked- since it said click everything that applies- and got CS both times. I would guess if you even remotely click CS- even along with everything else- that is the dining plan it will give you.

I could see this being a really nice tool for someone who might otherwise be completely overwhelmed at the prospect of planning a WDW vacation. At the very least it provides thought starters and still lets you modify your selections.

Interesting that it recommended only one day at Epcot and two at DHS. I also got the CBR Pirate room, which would be an irritating experience for me. I guess they've got some excess inventory on that room? Or maybe if it asked a few more questions it could continue to fine-tune its recommendations.

The other odd thing is that it recommended dining options that are completely out of the way for the average guest. I probably wouldn't travel to get takeout fried chicken at the campgrounds unless I had a LOT of time to spare during my vacation.

A very nice start, though.

At first it said it couldn't find a vacation for the winter season for me. So I selected any season. It gave me a 3 night stay at AoA cars suite in may. That was after picking the splurge option too. Uh no thanks.

LOL - can you imagine a person trying to figure out how to do Disney with their family and they get a message, "We're sorry, we are unable to find a vacation for you."

I got all the way to the end and the site had an error. Thanks for sharing, though! It will be fun to see what it chooses for us.

That was fun! Mine came up AKL during F&W. For 7 days it suggested 2 days in every park but only 1 day in Epcot, which would never be the case for us during F&W! :mickeybar :drinking1

I plugged in all my choices and it told me to go to Universal instead.;)

I hope nobody is stupid enough to just click "Add to Cart" and pay for it without further research. But I'm sure that's exactly what they're hoping. Pay for much more than what you need.

It told me it couldn't find a vacation for me! LOL. I asked to travel during the winter. I also said I like going to the pool. I wonder if those two things are incompatible.

I think it does the "can't find a vacation for you" if you pick Winter for the season. I tried Winter and got the same message

Oh my, they recommended the quick service dining plan but then put a picture of 50's Primetime right next to the details! SMH

No, but now you've linked to it I'm plugging in our current ideas for an upcoming trip.....

We're Stretched a Little Thin

Sorry, we're unable to accomodate your party for the season selected. Please choose a different season so we can make a recommendation for your stay.

You and me, both, Slinky Dog :rotfl:
I think the trouble was selecting the "Winter" season since "select your own dates" only let me look through December. We're planning on the tail end of February. Selecting "All Seasons" tells me we should be going at the end of September, Cars Suite (got that part about us right), only 5 nights with 6 non hopper passes (fail), 1 day each at MK and Epcot with Food & Wine plus 2 at HS and AK (MAJOR fail) and mostly eat at snack places.

An interesting tool and I'll have fun seeing if it gives me any suggestions I wouldn't normally think of, but definitely not the tool for our family.

Also, oddly enough, the page wouldn't show up on my laptop but it did here on my desktop, and when we tried to access it again, it disappeared and only goes to the main homepage.

They did well with our choices. Poly standard view with QS dining plan. 2 days at every park, except 1 day at the studios, end of Sep. beginning of Oct.. I would change the Poly to the Yacht or Beach club though.

It gave me 6 nights at Beach Club with 2 days at MK, DHS, and AK with only 1 at Epcot. DHS and AK combined are a day for us. We spend a portion of every day in Epcot. Oh and it priced WAY higher than our 7 night package is

I noticed another way to find the link.
If you click on Cart (and it's empty) it gives you a choice to compare 3 trips and each of those will offer you a choice to select your own trip or let them suggest one for you

i got 3 night stay early nov at poly, deluxe studio, F&W, 4 day tix w/ park hopper but it recommends one day per park? it also recommended dining plan.

i tried to switch dates to what i have booked in dec and ya, they were stretched thin.

I got 5 nights (too short) at AKL savannah view (nice, but too far), deluxe dining plan (way too much food), 1 MK, 1 EP (heck no, need more than that!), 2 AK (can do it in 1) and 2 DHS (how about 1/2?), park hoppers (though it doesn't suggest how we hop). Yes, a good tool to get someone started, but it doesn't delve deeply enough IMHO. I do hope people will research more and find they can really customize their trip based on their unique interests. AKL is lovely, but I'd only stay there for a really short trip, perhaps pre-cruise, so we can see the new night offerings at AK. Other than that, it's EP resorts for us.

I got 4 nights in September at the Contemporary with a theme park view room.

Actually, I'll take 9 nights at the Polynesian in October instead ;)
