My kids are 9 and 10.

Which of the Universal resorts is the most fun for the kids?

Best pool, etc...

2DS, 2DD or 1&1

outgoing or quiet

daring or reserved

Our 14yr old DS is quiet and daring and will ride or try anything atleast once. She has always liked ,since age 9 the Hard Rock hotel it's loud rock n roll party atmosphere, cool looking hotel ,guys and girls with spiky hair and excellent 1st rate pool wins everytime for her.

Only thing though is the pool bar area can get wild, last time we were there the ladies were dancing on the tables. :woohoo:

Next choice would be the Royal Pacific hotel. The fun tropical atmosphere super nice lobby and rooms and is #2 in pool choice for her

Last is the Portifino hotel even though the pool is really nice it is alittle to far away for her and doesn't "feel like your staying in the park" and " it isn't exciting!!! at all " her words :)

When my kids were that age they loved HRH and PBH - because of the pool and activities. RPR was their least favorite (no slide) and as they got older they have no desire to stay there.:confused3

Now as teens it's HRH or nothing!

However, pick the theme that appeals most to you because you can pool hop. All 3 are absolutely terrific. :thumbsup2

Pool shouldn't factor into it, since hopping around is totally encouraged!

HRH: pool slide. no proper swimming as everywhere away from the slide's immediate vicinity is too shallow.

RPR: can do a bit of swimming here, it's a BIG pool, and there's a water play area. when we were there they had a volleyball net over one part of the pool, with balls to play with, and people were having lots of fun with that.

PBH: main pool, a tiny bit of swimming, wading in the shallow water with the sand bottom, pool slide.

PBH: quiet pool, SWIMMING. nice, big rectangle of a pool. Also, hot tub and what seemed to be a cold tub (plunge pool) right next to it. Or maybe it was a nonfunctioning hot tub, LOL. we used it as a plunge pool though!

My 8 year old loooooves PBH. It has the biggest rooms and he loves playing on the bolted-to-the-ground vespa-type scooters they have there. Not sure if he'll still do that at 9 or 10.

At the time (age 7) he loved RPR rooms and grounds. But they have the smallest rooms.
