Which Universal park is better for a full day?

I will be arriving on Aug 20 around 11:30 and have the remainder of that day and the 21st to see Universal before heading to WDW.

Which park would take less time to complete, Islands of Adventure or the original park? I am trying to organize which park to see on which day, the 20th or 21st...

Any tips greatly appreciated.

What are you most interested in seeing? Do you want to ride the coasters or the tamer rides? If you want to do the coasters and thrill rides, go to IOA. If you're not concerned about all thrills and coasters, go to the Studios.

The Studios is a fuller day since it has a bunch of different shows.

We always spend a lot more time in the Studios but this really depends on what you enjoy most.
