With the Universal on-site hotels coming up on Hotwire, I'm thinking of trying to convince my DH to stay 2 nights in a Universal hotel during our Oct. visit to Orlando. We're DVC members, so the other 5 nights will be spent at our "home" resort. First of all, which hotel is best? The PBH looks VERY nice from the pictures, but so does the HRH and the other hotel (can't remember the name). Second, is it worth it to stay at Universal for 2 nights? We both love Disney, and we can probably get the Swan or Dolphin for under $100 via hotwire or with Starwood points/cash (if they extend the 4000 points/$60 offer). Any input would be appreciated:D

I would sat that RPR has some good deals I have heard people getting entertainment rate etc$110/night not sure of rest it sounds pretty nice RPR

If you are planning to go to the Universal Theme Parks, then I recommend you stay on-site at Universal, if only for the FOTL! It is definitely worth it -- even for two nights. I have stayed at HRH and PBH - both great hotels. We stayed at PBH last year and we are staying there again this year. It is a lovely resort - quiet and relaxing after a day at the parks. However, you can't make a mistake - all three of the on-site resorts are great!

My personal opinion is I LOVE the HRH. The theming is great, the rooms are large, and the staff is perfect. PBH is my runner up. THe rooms are definatly nicer and larger, but I just can't get enough of the atmosphere at HRH.

If you're looking for a laid back, resort style hotel with all the ammenities, go for PBH or RPR. For a hip theme/vibe, it's HRH all the way. As others have said, you can't go wrong. THe front of the line access alone is priceless.

Yeah must admit FOTLA win it for me be like a vip for our stay worth it in its self:jester:

We are DVC owners too, and are about to have our third weekend stay at the Universal resorts. We've stayed at HRH and PBH. They're both fabulous and even better at the Entertainment rate. With a two night stay, you have FOTL access for three days if you want it. With FOTL, you could do everything you want at both parks in two days. We always take a day to enjoy the resort/pool and go to City Walk. It's very much worth it to stay on-site (how much extra would you pay for FOTL anyway?), and it's a nice change from WDW. If you enjoy dining at restaurants, there are some excellent ones to try at the resorts, City Walk, and even the parks. Diana

Hey, I love the HRH and PBH too, but to call the rooms at the HRH large is a big stretch in my opinion ... I find the standard rooms at the HRH to be quite cozy at best ...
