We have ressies at CSR in Dec. I realize you can make a request for rooms. (only request). I'm torn between which would be better Bldg. 1 at Casitas or 9B at Cabanas. We aren't interested in the pool. Just main building and bus stop. Thanks!!

Buzz will have to give you insight on location of Cabana 9B as we have always stayed in Casitas. We have never done Casitas 1 (we always stay in 4 or 5), but Casitas 1 is very close to the Pepper Market/main building.

I stayed in Casitas 4 and I loved the location. It was close to the first bus stop and right next to the quiet pool and about a 5 minute walk to the main building.
The only reason I would hesitate to stay in Casitas 1 because you would be using the main bus stop and that was the only bus stop that was really crowded during my stay.

Good advice. Thanks. I am looking at the map and see what you mean. I will be using the bus stop more than the main building I think.

I, unfortunately did not listen to Buzz. We were in the closest building to the DIg site, which was great, 9A I think, but the views from 9b..I would say are far better. You can look over to see the bigger lake and Casitas. It is closer to the main building too. I think he is not kidding when he said this is the most desired location. There is also a quiet pool which I think would have been great in the morning for a little quiet swim before my kids woke up. If I stay there again I would request 9b!! Pool view...=). Good luck and Have fun!

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Count me in on this discussion. I am having a bit of a hard time trying to visualize. I looked on the map but the map shows about 6 bus stops and they are labeled differently. They don't say 1 - 4. Maybe it is an old map. Also, I thinking like the OP, Casita 1 or Cabana 9B seem to be the most convenient. I was looking at Casita because of the covered access to the buildings, though we requested 9B so far. Are there 2 bus stops close to Casita 1? It looks like the main bus stop and the bus stop called Casita on the map are about the same distance. If the El Centro bus is always crowded, how far is the second closest bus?

Loved my Ranchos 7B location. Perfect for the quiet pool and not too far from anything else. It was perfect for my aunt who was travelling post hip injury and therefore needed something that was close to everything.

I looked at the map on Deb Wills site and you are right the bus stops are not numbered. Looking at the map, the bus stop at Casitas 4 was the first stop, then the bus stop by 6A, then 8A and the last stop was the stop near El Centro.
Casitas 1 is close to El Centro but really not to the bus stop near Casitas 4. Not to say it is not doable but kind of inconvenient

Thanks so much for the advice. I see what you mean.

We just spent a few nights at CSR. We were in 8B I think. I know it was 8, can't remember if it was A or B. It was the one with the quiet pool between it and 9something. The only request I made was "near the main pool" so unless my TA noted something more specific, that was it. We loved this location. Not far from the main bldg, not a bad walk to the dig site and bus stop #4 right behind our building. I would totally request this location again in the future!

I think I would like to stay at either Unit 4 or 8B because they are close to bus stops. Is it true that the main bus stop at the front is the busiest and it maybe best to use one of the other bus stops?

DH and I stayed in Casita 4 and loved the location. The theming of the Casitas section was fabulous. You can walk along the lake or go through the courtyards with the fountains and flowers to get to the main building. And the bus stop was so convenient. We both thought that it was an excellent choice.

We stayed in 9B over Thanksgiving 2007. Quick walk to the Marketplace and the bus stop located there. We always used this bus stop and found it very convenient. We also liked the tropical feel of the cabanas.

We stayed in Casitas 1 and loved the location. I was close to my morning coffee run and the main pool was not too far for me. If I were to go back, I think I would prefer the Cabanas only because I liked the hammocks and beachy look to the outside. It was still close to a morning coffee run (important to me) and close to the pool. I actually don't think you can go wrong anywhere there but I guess it just depends what you are looking for. I also had no problems with Bus stop 1 - we had a 10 minute wait at the most.
