Which type rooms fill up quickest at AKL?

I was wondering if it is harder to get a poolview deluxe standard or a regular parking lot view standard.

In other words....should I book a regular standard parking lot view and if a code comes out try to upgrade to a poolview deluxe (with couch) or should I book the poolview deluxe and if code does not come out try to downgrade.

If I remember correctly one year I was trying for a cheepie room at CBR and only Water view were left...so does that mean book the standard and try to move up later?



Any thoughts?

I think generally that the standards go first. At least that's my experience and what the CM told me when we called to book under the new package code. But I think the poolview deluxe is very hard to get with a pcakge code because if they even are available with the package, they sell out fast.

If you're set on the deluxe, I'd book it, and hope you can apply a discount, but be prepared to pay the rack rate, too.
