Which type of shirt is best for iron-on transfers...100% cotton or 50%poly/50%cotton? What are the big differences that you notice between the two when you do iron-ons?

Thank you for any advice/info you can provide!

I used 50 poly-50 cotton. They seemed to work well. I recommend Jiffy Shirts.com. They are really cheap and quite well made. They ship fast.

I made about 60 shirts. I used Avery and Hewlett Packard transfers. I prefer Hewlett Packard. They all turned out really cute. Everyone raved about them. I prewashed the shirts before ironing on the transfers. I have put them all away until vacation in June. I am not going to wash them until we get home as I worry some of the transfers might peel once washed.

Any design that would be really difficult to cut all the white off I used on WHITE shirts. Cutting to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the design with very very small sissors.
The designs to go on COLORED shirts I cut all the white off around the design. ( I thought the white showing looked tacky on a colored shirt but you cannot see it on a white shirt)
Good Luck...:thumbsup2

Most info I've read on this board recommends 100% cotton although I've also used 50/50 w/no problems.

I do NOT recommend Jiffyshirts; the patch I got (more than 30 ordered at one time) had pin holes in the arms. And, their return policy wasn't as lenient as shirtsupplier.com's.

risk of shrinkage with 100% cotton of course; risk of burning/melting with 50/50 if iron is too hot.
