Which Two-Bed Villa?

Can anyone let me know which two bedroom villas have either (1) two beds and a Murphy bed or sleeper chair in the second bedroom or (2) one bed, one sleeper sofa and a Murphy bed in the second bedroom. We have three small boys and whilst we might just get away with putting them in the same room they wouldn’t be able to share beds - they wouldn’t get any sleep let alone the 12 hours they are used to each night and grumpy overtired children at Disney isn’t fun. We usually get a three bedroom villas which means only two have to share, but I’m conscious that’s not a very good use of our points so am looking to see whether there is a two-bedroom layout that might work for us. I’m aware that most lock offs seem to have one bed and a sofa bed in the second room and that most dedicated two bedrooms seem to have two doubles in the second bedroom. The Murphy bed or sleeper chair situation is not particularly clear though. We’d prefer they didn’t sleep in the lounge as otherwise we’d be sitting on our bed all evening (they go to bed at 8pm absolute latest). Many thanks in advance.

Second bedroom has a queen, a pull-out sofa and a murphy:
  • Lockoff 2BR at BWV
  • Lockoff 2BR at BCV
  • Lockoff 2BR at BRV
  • Lockoff 2BR at VGF
  • Lockoff 2BR at RIV
Any dedicated 2BR will be 2 queens in the second bedroom, and additional sleep surfaces in the living room area. OKW, BLT and AKV have sleeper chairs in the dedicated 2BRs, but they'll be in the living room. CCV is a hard limit 8 in their 2BRs, which is 2 in the king bedroom, 4 in the second bedroom on 2 beds, and 2 on a sleeper in the living room.

The key is really booking lock-offs at the 5 resorts mentioned, and NOT dedicated.

You could also try booking 2 Poly studios and request connecting. These are the only studios that connect in all DVC.

Thank you, it’s useful to know which resorts have the Murphy beds.

ideally it would be a dedicated two-bedroom with a Murphy bed so everyone was on a proper mattress, but I’m sure the children wouldn’t notice.

We are two adults and three children so won’t be at risk of over occupancy.

That does not exist with the two beds and a murphy in the second bedroom, and you expressed preference not to have anyone in the living room. When dealing in dedicated units, the second bedroom is always two queens. Just two queens. A VGF dedicated is a king, 2 queens in second bedroom, and a pull-out and murphy in the living room, for instance. Any dedicateds with the last sleep surface, it will always be in the living space not the bedroom.

Also please note - Lockoffs will have a lockable door between the studio portion and the 1 bedroom AND an extra door to the hall way/outside from the studio - not sure if your boys will find those extra doors too tempting to resist...not to mention their own kitchenette

Yes, I was just looking at the virtual tour of the Riviera and noticed the mini kitchen. They will probably decide to try to make breakfast! Not ideal at 6, 4 and 2 year’s old!

By the way, the twin sized sleeper chair cannot be moved to the bedroom. It is too wide and too heavy.

Ah, it thought others had reported they had done this at AKL. Thanks for the warning.

Have you considered the THV at SSR? They are just about the same points structure as 2 bedroom villas ( maybe just a hair more) but have 3 bedrooms. Master BR has queen bed+master bathroom. 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and 3rd bedroom has bunk beds. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms share the hall bathroom. In addition to the sleeper sofa in the living room there is also a sleeper chair.

DVC has asked members not to move the furniture to other rooms.

More than that, it is actually physically impossible to get that chair through the doorway without damaging several things, including the doorway, the chair, and possibly the people trying to move it.

I would consider renting a bed/mattress for the two year old and putting it in the master if the other two need their own beds. You might be able to fit it in the second bedroom as well depending on the resort/layout.

yes, we stayed in one last month for a week. It worked well. Because the kids are small I don’t care about the size of the bedrooms, I just care about the number of bedrooms. Even having two share the bunk room meant they were both up at 6am every morning when usually one of them sleeps until 8am. He was shattered in the day as a result.

Good idea, didn’t think of that. We actually have a blow up one we could use for our next trip so that would work well as it’s small and would fit in the second bedroom.

I think you can rent a roll-away bed for $100/week (including delivery fee) from Traveling Baby (I saw it mentioned in a question about air mattresses). Or a toddler bed:
