Which TS restaurants have you scratched off your list and why?

A long, long time ago I read a post that really sums up all that has been written here. The only thing consistent about the food at WDW is it's inconsistency. That being said, my likes/dislikes have changed over the years.

Tony's - first visit terrible service and bad food; went several years before returning and really liked it.
Crystal Palace - Liked it first couple of times, then seemed a little dingy and blah.
Liberty Tree Tavern - food tasted better when there were characters (he said jokingly).
Hollywood and Vine - first visit was for breakfast (when it was 50s these) and loved it. Went once for dinner and nixed it for the future.
50s Prime Time - very disappointed first visit. Liked it last time, so we will go back.
Biergarten - did not like at all.
Teppon Edo - enjoyed the food and show the first time, not so much the second.
Boatwrights - friend (a frequent guest) said it was one of the best meals he had in WDW. I would definitely not say that.
Cape May Cafe - friend (a different one) liked it so much, her family ate there twice in same trip. Food, service and the fact that we had to sit a family of 5 at a table for 4 was a bummer.

Tony's Town Square. Just horrible.

Hollywood and Vine - will not go there based on reviews by the dis team

Chef Mickey's - I am on the fence about this one. I have never tried it personally, but the reviews have me a little worried. Some love it, some hate it.

I've scratched many off simply because I've been there a few times. We love Raglan, Biergarten and Boma but are giving them a break. Our Disney trips are few and far between so we like to try different things.

That being said, I will never purposely go to Rainforest cafe in DS again. My expectations for Disney dining are low. I know it will be overpriced. I can live with average food and barely adequate service. Rainforest failed to meet those expectations. Terrible service, bland food and a ridiculous bill.

Most character meals. My kids aren't into them and the food is reliably ok to lackluster. Saying that, I did book the new Bon Voyage. It's on our departure day and close to where we're staying. I hope it's a fun Disney moment (counting on you, Flynn!) before driving home...and will fill up the kids so that we have a few quiet hours!

I don't love buffets, and would avoid them all, but I've scheduled Biergarten for DH and Trail's End for the kids. Darn compromises!

'Ohana. Noisy, rushed, and a loader's worth of food on the table at once is not my preferred experience. None of us have the desire to return.

Starbucks. Gross coffee and I don't care for sweets (and rarely eat breakfast).

BOG. I can't believe that they serve the sandwiches cold, now! We enjoyed our lunch there, years ago, but we could take it or leave it.

We never ate at the WDW RC or T-rex but Landry's is an institution here so we're not interested in them. We did enjoy Y&Y.

Landscape of Flavors. The ordering system was awful with 3 young kids, whose choices were different lines, so no-one got what they wanted. Breakfast was nearly inedible. We avoided food courts since but are trying again at POR, though I'm not looking forward to it. Going to different bays is annoying as a family.

CRT - way too pricey for that bad of food. I get that I'm paying for the ambiance and character interaction, but better food (both breakfast and lunch were so so) should come with that cost. I'm sure I'll have to go back when DD2 (10 months) is older.

Rainforest Cafe - I've actually never been to the WDW ones. But since I've been to them at other cities, can it really be that much different that I need to try it?

San Angel Inn - I always try places twice just in case the food / service / experience was an anomaly and off just that first time I went. yeah this place isn't getting a 2nd chance.

Coral Reef - awkward seating, food was blah, etc.

The Wave. Breakfast was tolerable, dinner was gross. And ambiance is straight up Marriott, circa 1994.

Other places are strictly because I think the prices they are charging are ridiculous. I mean, my kids can EAT, but paying $30/meal for them is Ludacris. Especially when they are just as happy with a counter service meal at a table outside where they can people watch!

I actually LOLed. I can picture Ludacris throwing a fit ;)

Coral Reef, smelled fishy in there and food only mediocre

The Fountain at the Dolphin, poor service and food meh!

I love the comment earlier in this post when someone mentioned buffets and dinner shows are not for them because of all the noise and chaos, and the need to have nice intimate conversations during dinner are lost in those venues. I travel with my dd 17 and we love those venues because of that, we talk to each other all day and don't have a whole lot to say at meals so we love it lol! Different strokes for different folks.

T Rex: way too headache-inducing and just bad food
CRT: way too expensive for what it is. Cool to eat in the castle but would never pay to do it again.
Le Cellier: too expensive for them park dining that really isn't all that amazing
Crystal Palace: bad food, characters take way too long to come, crowded feeling
50s Prime Time: I'd go back but my husband thought the food was terrible.
Marrakesh: pretty bland for ethnic food but the atmosphere was nice. Can't help but compare to much better places hear home.

Crystal Palace. Food was okay but after being there for an hour we had only interacted with one character. Too expensive for what you get.

DD and I ate at Rose & Crown for the first time last year. I wasn't impressed. Food was meh and service was not that good.

We were just there. We had to be there the whole 90 minutes to get all 4 characters. It was not terribly enjoyable but I think I'm more of a morning character experience. It was good enough but I wouldn't go back unless I had 7 and unders or grandkids

Dine with an Animal Specialist- Sanaa was great and we'd go back and this was fun to do once. I just don't see the value in going back more than once.

HBD Fantasmic package-This was also fun to try and we loved the restaurant, but with the price being what it is and the meal including more food than we usually eat it's not worth it to do often.

Early Morning Magic (the breakfast)-I don't really feel we got the value for the money at this event, but the breakfast was just awful.

Ohana (dinner)-My boyfriend loved this, but I'm a picky eater and I didn't really like most the meal (just not a fan of the type of food) so it doesn't really make sense to go back.

Las Ventanas- Breakfast was good, but lunch was pretty awful. We probably wouldn't go out of our way to eat here even if we stayed at CSR again.

Any restaurants with a lack of GF choices for my boyfriend (I believe most the restaurants in the China and Japan pavillions are not safe).

For the most part I'd be willing to try restaurants again even of we had a bad experience one time. But I do have a few that I don't really want to go back to anytime soon but may someday.

Trails End (Dinner)-Waited 40 mins, didn't really like the food

Captain's Grille-Breakfast was okay, but I'd rather try other places then go back.

1900 Park Fare (Dinner)-Didn't really like the dinner menu.

San Angel Inn- Food was okay, but there's a lot of other places I'd try before I came back.

Trex Cafe-Boyfriend liked it, I thought it was a little loud and the food wasn't too great.

Never again: Garden Grill (bad food, didn't like the atmosphere), H&V & CRT (both bad food and bad service)

May try again one day: Boma, Le Cellier. I've had good and bad experiences at both, so won't write off completely but need a break.

Skipper Canteen

Service wasn't totally horrible though somewhat slow; however, we were a big group. This is personal to us - our waitress was just half-heartedly into the theme and it came off as kind of wooden. She was also kind of pushy and seemed put out when none of us ordered apps or special drinks, but recovered after a minute a or two. However, no one, save my mother, liked their dish very much (she had the curried vegetable crew stew) and she didn't feel it was return worthy. We all tried a gamut of the dishes too (the lamb chops, fish, shrimp, pork, noodle bowl, chicken - again we were a big group). Imagine a group of seven eating from one woman's dish and picking at all the rest. It's not that we don't like adventurous food either, we actually felt most of it was bland and lacked something to round the dishes out.

By the time dessert rolled around, we all decided to get dole whips and glazed nuts instead of spending even more $$ to try to shore up our lackluster dining experience. We are lucky though, and mostly have good experiences at Disney restaurants, so would rather try other places than return to a so-so experience. Spice Road Table and Tiffins are on the list for next time along with several other alternatives!

TRex and RFC are a no as we can go to RFC here at home.
The Plaza Restaurant - I am a bit surprised no one mentioned this as it is just a place to eat - not good food, no theme.
LTT, Narcoosee's, Any Character meals.

We had taken Citrico's off but we decided to try it last week and I think it was the best meal we had all week! So you never know.

Le Cellier - food was mediocre and the service was horrible. Way overpriced for what you get
Tony's - gross food, my Calamari was so stinky that the tables around us started wondering where that odor was coming from!
'Ohanas - meat was very dry that last two time we went.
Any buffet - I've seen children sneeze into the food. :crazy2:
