Any good ones??? Was considering Cape May but we aren't big seafood fans here...

Are you looking for dinner at one of the Epcot resorts?

Looking for something that would be easy to access from Hollywood Studios...we were considering Cape May but I keep reading that it smells funky there and my girls would probably complain about the seafood smell if so. Just want to eat dinner away from HS ;)

You could also eat over at Boardwalk....there's a bunch of good restaurants there. Also, I've never found Cape May to smell fishy. I'm with you... it would clear me out. That's actually a "must do" for us. There's alot that's not seafood on the buffet.

But, you could always go to ESPN or Big River Grille at Boardwalk or Captain's Grille at the YC. You can also take the boat from HS to either.... you can walk and it's a pretty walk but the boat is also available.

I am not a seafood fan at all but my wife is. we did go to cape may last year and i did not notice the smell there at all. in fact i enjoyed my meal there even though i do not like seafood and there was quite a bit of non-seafood to choose from. i would go there again in a heart beat

we like some seafood...as in shrimp, some fish, etc...just not clams or mussel thingies

I read where Cape May has ribs and steak...which would appeal to everyone in my party. Not really sure what to do:confused3

We dined at Yachtsman Steakhouse for the first time last month and it was wonderful. Great filet mignon and lamb. Their macaroni and cheese was terrific. The servings are quite large. We had lots left over and took our leftovers to our BWV studio before heading to Epcot for EMH.

Does anyone recall what side dishes they offered? Or anything that stood out in particular?

if you're talking about Cape May, here's the link to the menu of what is offered.... http://allears.net/menu/menu_cmc.htm

the ribs were REALLY good.... I can't remember specific sides though. ( I do remember the oreo bon bons however !! and the key lime tart.....shows you where my head was!!)

DD #1 and DH love ribs...it says they have sirloin or prime rib as well?? Can anyone verify this?

Perhaps if it was just DH and I we'd for sure consider this...however we will be bringing the kids with us as well and looking for something a little more laid back ;)

Thanks for the suggestion! We are in MI as well, Alma :)

How about the Fountain at the Dolphin? Very casual menu and yummy!

Oh, I grew up in Mt. Pleasant. Did some highland dancing in Alma when I was younger.

Cape May is a great restaurant, too. It's one of DD15's favorite places, but we also really like seafood. I think you'd find plenty to satisfy everyone in your family at Cape May. Plus, you get the added bonus of crayons to write on your paper table cloth. Your kids will like that distraction -- especially after your server draws something first.

I could be wrong, but I think they had a prime rib carving station where someone cut it off for you. ( w/ horseradish cream sauce on the side)

LOL, small world!

And that sounds great about being able to draw on the table cloth! Just hope the girls don't get any ideas about that for when they come back home ;)

Captains Grill is quite nice, sort of a hidden gem that doesn't get much hype here on the DIS. I can't speak to the quality of the non-seafood offerings, though, because all of us had crab and more crab.

If you're into sports at all, ESPN Club is pretty cool. It isn't fabulous cuisine but it is good tasting bar type food and the memorabilia collection is really amazing.

DS7 is allergic to shellfish and he still enjoys eating at Cape May Cafe for dinner. They have plenty to choose from in terms of non shellfish items and he has never had a reaction due to "fumes" or anything in the air which I would think would be an issue if it had a fishy smell. Atleast Ive never noticed one. The atmosphere is great and the service is top notch.

We have also eaten at Yachtmans steakhouse and Big River Grill. YSH is one of the best meals I have had on disney property. BRG was also pretty good though the service was lacking. DH loved it, he is a steak and beer kinda guy. The boardwalk area is neat also, lots of fun stuff going on and you can watch illuminations(from a distance) from the boardwalk.

We eat at Cape May every trip and sometimes more than once.I have an allergy to shellfish and a picky 6 yr old who dislikes fish.We NEVER have a problem finding food. Also I have never noticed a Fishy smell or odor, and I have a pretty strong aversion to odors:confused3
