We will be going in May...3 adults and 2 small children (3 and 1 year olds). We are staying at DLH. Which tower do you suggest and why? Thanks.

We stayed there last week. In the Magic Bldg. (main lobby) - one side faces out to the parking lot (Disney calls it City of Anaheim view), the other side would overlook the pool area. The Dream building - one side overlooks pool, the other side overlooks DTD and you can see the fireworks from your room. Wonder building one side would look over the waterfall area and the other side would overlook parking lot for DVC sales and model buildings. We were in the Dream building with a DTD view.

We like the Magic building, don't pay for pool view. Ask for a higher room (floor 6 and up), and you'll get a decent view of the fireworks without having to pay extra!

I like the Dreams tower best. My kids like the pool view, and I can't decide which I prefer, pool or DTD view! It's the easiest location for accessing DTD and the parks.

My second choice is Magic, pool view. I would pay extra for pool vs parking lot view, assuming it's not a lot more money (it usually isn't much more). My kids love looking down at the pool, and at night they beam a lighted Tinkerbell on the bottom of the pool! This building is convenient to the lobby and restaurants, and is not far from DTD.

I personally don't care for the Wonder tower. The elevators are slow and the tower itself is farthest from everything except the waterfall and koi ponds. If you have to be in Wonder, try to get a room on the waterfall side. There is just nothing to recommend the parking lot side, IMO.

Finally, if you are going with a standard room, request Dreams tower (if that's your preference). There are still some standard rooms in it even though it's mostly pool/DTD view rooms. The standard rooms will just have a partially blocked view and/or be on a lower floor. Of course, you won't be guaranteed that tower, but might as well make note of it on your reservation.

We stayed in the Dreams tower last week & had a view of DTD. The other side would have the pool view. It was quiet & the room was beautiful & roomy.

Make sure....no matter which tower you end up in..... take a look in the main tower to the right of registration & check out all the memorabilia. Then take a walk around the grounds. They are beautiful...see the pools, beach area, koi fish, waterfalls & remote control boats. We spent at least an hour or two just walking the grounds & taking it all in.

THANK YOU...for the quick responses! With two very small children, the nearest tower to the parks may be good. Would the rooms be fairly comfortable for 3 adults and 2 children?

Dreams seems to be the closest building but you will still have to walk past ESPN Zone and Rainforest Cafe to catch the Monorail or walk about two blocks and catch a tram to the north or walk forever through downtown disney.

I was there yesterday for brunch and the main lobby and Dreams are both equi distance unless Dreams opens up onto that street on the east side.

We stayed in the dreams tower DTD side at the beginning of the month and it was great we were on the 9th floor...When we did out pre check in we asked for the dreams tower and were told thye had a 3rd floor room available...Then at around noon we asked again and we got the 9th floor and the room was ready...And yes 3 adults and 2 kids would work fine in the room we had 2 adukts a 13,8 and 2 year old and had pleanty of room the rooms are big...We had a roll away brought in also and still had lots of room...If you want to see pictures you can follow my link...http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b241/coreybdgr/Disney 2009/ Also havign two kids if you are there on a tuesday or thursday they feed the koi at 930 it is neat...

Yes, Dreams does open up onto the street on the east side, which means you go straight out into DTD. Even if you went out the front, it's still closer than the lobby. However, to be fair it only saves you a short walk over the Magic building.

I guess it depends on your perspective as to how far the walk is. I never think of it as any big deal because I enjoy it. On the other hand, I can't stand the walk on Harbor, which makes it seem much farther to me though it isn't. From the hotel to the monorail is a very short walk, but the monorail is not very reliable as a means of transportation from my experience.
