Which Tower at DLH

I'm hearing good things about the Sierra Tower, but what of the other two, Bonita and Marina? Which is the furthest walk? Which has the best "standard" view? Best rooms?

Several nights of the week we're going are sold out and I was too cheap to upgrade view. It would be nice to not have to view the parking lot, but if we had to, oh well.

Sorry, this is OT from your post, but I wanted to ask what you thought of Port Orleans. I am considering that for our next WDW trip. The first 3 were at the Poly, Coronado, and Caribbean.

If we can't afford PO next time, we'll just go to Pop Century.

Thanks! :)

My personal favorite is the Bonita tower with a pool view. You overlook the waterfalls and from the rooms that we had (upper floors) we have been able to see the fireworks from the room... Am am totally biased though.. On our first trip to the DLH, we were given this tower and loved it soo much that it's the only one we want to stay in :goodvibes

The Bonita is the furthest, but not that big of a deal. Maybe one to two minutes further if that. It is also the one that has the fountains and koi pond, we really loved walking through that each day and night. I love being on an upper floor of the Bonita the best. We had a very nice view of the DLH property, , the fountains, the park and we could even see Downtown L.A. and Knotts Berry Farm off in the distance. On the other side of the Bonita is the least attractive view of any of the six towers, its a view of a parking lot! Its not horrible but you cannot see any of DL that I recall and maybe only a little of DCA (if any). I have only had that view once about four years ago. Again, not awful because in the end how much time will one really spend looking out their window at any DL hotel room?

The Sierra is the most requested and has two premium view classes: pool and DTD. Some of the lower floors in the Sierra are standard view rooms however. We have had both second and third floor rooms in that tower. The second floor DTD one we could actually see quite a bit of the fireworks which was a nice surprise. We could also see DTD a bit, mostly the RFC as I recall. The third floor pool room we had was also nice and once the sliding door was shut I couldn't hear any pool noise.

The Marina is the tower with the lobby. It has views of the pool on one side which would be premium and a standard, parking lot view on the other. Those parking lot views are not bad at all, you can see the driveway of the hotel, the big Mickey statue and some of the parks. You can also see the fireworks nicely from this side of the hotel. That parking lot view is way better than the Bonita's.

So thats the run down, as you can see standard views can mean anything from a paring lot to some very nice pool and park views and views of the fountains. There are six possible sides to be on with this hotel and only one of them has a crummy view. So the odds are pretty good. In five stays, I have only gotten that one once. And I had known then that I could request something better on the reservation and at check in I would have and possibly avoided that altogether. That was pre disboard days!
