Hi -

We are headed home in about 3 weeks and I am trying to decide if I should buy 4 day park hoppers at the disney store in advance or wait till I check in and get those length of stay ones - We are arriving late on a Monday, so, I need park access for Tuesday - Friday

Questions are
Can I get the LOS (or is it unlimited magic pass now??) for the 3 nights 4 days - and how much are they with the member discount?

or
would it be better to get the 4Day PH in advance -

TIA

I have never been a strong proponent of the LOS tickets. Reason being, if you happen to have bad weather and/or someone gets sick or for whatever reason you decide not to go to the Parks, you are out the cost of those days, because the ticket expires at midnigt of the day you checkout. If you purchase a Parkhopper ticket, you are only using the days that you go to the Parks and any other days leftover never expire.

One advantage to the LOS is that they do include Disney Quest and Pleasure Island that a regular Parkhopper does not.

You just have to weigh the pros and cons of each ticket.

And we love the ease of the LOS ticket - and are willing to pay a little more for it. But if cost is your only consideration, I'd get the longest parkhoppers you can afford through a broker and use them for your next trip as well as this one. Generally, you save a dollar or two per day for each day you add to the ticket, and generally a broker (or even AAA) is a better value than the Disney store. Check out www.mousesavers.com for info. You can stretch four "pluses" for years - since most of us will only use one or two of them a trip (at most).

It looks like there will be about $4 difference in a 4 day Hopper and a 3 nite/4 day UPH- with DVC discount.

Here is a link to <a href="http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/tickets.htm">WDW Ticket prices</a> right here on the DIS. Just be sure to deduct the 10% discount from the pass.

As noted, the UPH allows admission to all WDW Theme Parks, Water Parks, Pleasure Island and Disney Quest- while the 4 day hopper allows admission to the Theme Parks only. The 4 day won't expire- so any unused days can be used on another trip.

Just do the math and figure what will work best for your situation.

Enjoy!

I thought we didn't get any discounts on tickets, since everyone is always saying they wish DVC members DID get a discount. I would imagine I'm out of luck if I just bought 5 4-day passes at the buy ahead rate from Disney?

You only get the 10% discount on the UPH tickets, not on the PH tickets purchased at the DS. So you haven't lost anything.

As far as admission to the four major parks goes:

*DVC members do get a discount on UPH (formerly known as Length of Stay) tickets. The discount is 10% and applies to the gate price. (UPH = Ulimate Park Hopper)

*DVC members do not get a discount on on PH or PHP tickets.

For many members, PH and PHP tickets are the better value. It really depends on how you tour. Don't beat yourself up. You got the best deal available from Disney for 4 day PH tickets.

Enjoy the trip!
