Out of all the table service restaurants in Walt Disney World which one would you say is the easiest for anyone to walk into if an ADR was not available or the guests didn't feel like making an ADR?

Seems like Marakesh in Epcot always has tables..the food is really good too.

This reminds me of when I was staying at the yacht club a few years ago, we walked up to the podium and asked to be seated for breakfast at yacht club galley(now captains grill). The host would not seat us without an adr. So we had to walk over to concierge, and got an adr , and then were seated in 5 minutes.... ridiculous. To answer your question,
beaches and cream, whispering canyon, kimonos, the bar at the yacht club, (forget the name)., marrakesh, wolfgang puck, kona, tokyo dining, and fultons are all places we have been seated without a reservation.

Just FTR, that's because Beaches & Cream doesn't take ADRs :).

aware of that, neither does the bar at the yacht club take reservations, just answering the question.

Agreed! We got a last minute ADR there (as in right before we wanted to eat) and the food was very good!

Of course, a lot will depend on the time of day that you are trying for. The Ragland Road one is a good suggestion if you are looking to eat there any time prior to 6:00 or 6:30. After that you may need an ADR. We've never had to wait long at Sci-Fi Dine In for lunch. But we uaully head there around 11:30 or so. If you are early (say before 5:00) for dinner you can normally walk in at a number of places. We have been able to eat at places like Boma's and Cape May Cafe with no ADR around 5:00. You may have to wait 20 or 30 minutes. But by 5:30 or 6:00 you will need an ADR for most places. Now you can call that morning to get an ADR for what is open. Recently we were able to get an ADR for Flying Fish at 4:00 for dinner at 6:00. But we asked reservations what was open. We didn't ask about a specific restaurant. Oh, Bongos Cuban Cafe is normally open for walk ins with no or very little wait. Downtown Disney and the resorts are going to have more openings than the ones in the parks. But you can't be too picky about where and when you eat. What time of year you go matters too. We are normally there the first two weeks of May.

:thumbsup2

Marrakesh always has openings I'll guess because the food is a little different than the usual meat and potatos. We love the food, the service, and the music and belly dancing. While we enjoy many of the finer dining at WDW, the themed restaurants, shows, and character meals the best.

We've done walkups to Kouzzina, BnC (i know no Adrs) and Marrakesh one trip... another trip we walked up to The Wave and Grand Floridian Cafe. Kona used to be easy for a walk up but its gotten more popular and its not really my thing

You can always walk up to Marrakesh and Nine Dragons.

and as someone else said, you can walk up to most places if you arrive just as they start serving lunch.

We arrived the day before our package started in August to save money on airfare. Since we were offsite on that night we decided to eat offsite. At the last minute we changed our mind and decided to go to Cape May and hope we could get in. We walked up at 6:00PM and were seated at 6:01. Had a great meal too.

We've done walk-ups at Cape May many times for dinenr, but always late, probably around 9 PM.

In Oct 2009, we got into SciFi Diner without an ADR at lunch time and the place was busy and people were waiting to be seated. I also saw someone get a lunchtime walk-up at Liberty Tree Tavern. These were all in the last week of October. I also canceled a Chef Mickey breakfast the day before that ADR because we changed our mind and went to HS one more time in the morning. So it probably pays to keep checking for last minute cancellations. I like
Disney's web page for checking available ADRs from my phone.

Ok, sit down before reading this...we've gotten a walk-up at CRT! :wizard: Arrived just as dinner seatings were starting and were seated in 10 minutes. We've also done walk-ups for Crystal Palace, San Angel Inn, and Liberty Tree Tavern, those I specifically remember.

I usually check with the concierge at our resort for last minute openings, too. We've been surprised before by what we've gotten. So, it never hurts to try, IMO. The worst they can do is say no.

We got a walk-up seating at Tony's Town Square for an early dinner once. We went to the podium earlier in the day (1-2ish) and asked about dinner, they said they were full, but that they start taking walk-ups at 4:15 for the 4:30 dinner service. We got there at 4, and I got in line behind someone who said, "Well, do you mind if I wait right here?" Meanwhile, about 10 other people had just been "hanging around" waiting for the line to start. They took our names at 4:15, and shortly after 4:30 we were called. Now, there were just 2 of us, so it wasn't a big stretch to find room. But I think most people in the line (about 20-30 ppl long) got tables within 20 minutes. We didn't mind waiting as it had been a long day and she snagged two of the rocking chairs on the porch. :cool2:

The restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin. I've walked up at Kimono's, Il Mulino, and Todd English's bluezoo™ on my trip a couple weeks ago. And I've done breakfast at Captain's Grille as a walkup a few times.
