Which TA do you use?

We booked last April through itravel2000. The TA is a doll but thre were a few costly unforeseens - minivan we rented was a compact one so the only thing left to upgrade to was a luxury SUV, with the gas and taxes it was 600.00 USD MORE - as in ON TOP of the $600.00 CDN we had already paid! And the vacation home we rented was nice but a pain in the ____ as far as dropping and picking up keys and more fees for pool heat and highchair rentals.

I am researching as we would like to go to WDW again. We were there in April 2005, are going to Mexico in Jan 2006 so are probably looking at Fall/Winter 2006, maybe even early 2007 (we want to avoid hurricane season but still go during a slow time - April was amazing but I don't want to wait that long to go again).

Thanks!

We went through CAA, and had a wonderful TA. You get the AAA discount, and the other AAA bonuses. However you have to be a member. Some have said it is worth paying $60(?) to get a membership. We were already members so that wasn't an issue for us.

I do all of the work myself. TAs are great but they charge for the service.

Quite often there are better deals out there. Even CAA charges you. I booked POP directly and asked for the CAA discount and got the room $11 cheaper per night than the CAA agent could get it for???

The key is finding the trade off in your time vs having someone do it for you.

Booking on your own requires time and you have to do some research. If you are looking for someone to give you advice and eliminate some work than a TA would be a good idea. I used Dreams Unlimited for my upcoming crusie because I did not know enough about it to take the risk on my own. They were great and answered all of my questions via e-mail.

DU doesn't charge for their service, nor do many of the other Disney specialist internet TA's.

I know that one of them even has a Canadian agent working for them, I just can't remember which one.

We've used DU and really liked the service. They didn't charge us extra, made all our ADR's and got discounts when they were announced.

For our upcoming trip in December we booked online ourselves since we got the BRP since we have AP's but I wouldn't hesitate to use DU again and we are using them for our cruise in October 2006.

You should look at renting points from a DVC member rather than renting a condo someplace no hidden fees that way. We never use a TA not worth the time and effort IMHO.

Hockey Mom's DH here. I only use Hockey Mom, I wouldn't leave home with out her!
