Which summer week is best?

Are there any times or weeks during this summer that would be any less crowded?

We have pretty much any week to visit from mid/late June to mid August...

So far, I am not liking June since that could be cooler weather? And annual passholders not blocked out until late in the month...

(we've done Disney World in August and can manage those temps and weather.)

I don't think the weeks around July 4th are good because of increased crowds around the holiday weekend?

Also would like to avoid July 17th due to increased crowds for disneyland's 60th anniversary.

So I'm thinking either of the last two weeks of July would be nice?
Or the first week of August?

Also worried in August that I don't want the increased crowds close to D23 convention from Aug 14-16. And probably any later in month doesn't work for us.

Any thoughts about which week might be less crowded or any other insights I've missed?

2 boys, ages 14 and 12, planning 4-5 Disney days and a few other days to see area attractions also. Will stay in walking distance to Disneyland.

I am thinking probably around the end of July to the beginning of August. I have gone the 3rd week of August before and it's been fine, but I've never gone during the D23 convention. Also since you have 4-5 days you should be able to see most everything if you plan right. Take advantage of park opening times. The first 2-3 hours of a park opening are the best. You can find low wait times and its the best time to score big ride fast passes like radiator racers, world of color (this one you can get anytime even if you just got a regular fastpass), splash mountain. I would plan which rides are a necessity and which aren't and have a game plan. Also you can spend 2 days in each park and then have a 5th day to do whatever. I would definitely avoid July 4th week, but I think beginning of August would be fine. My main advice is like I said, take advantage of park opening hours, even if you have to go back to the hotel in the hot part of the day for a snooze or pool time. The first and last hours are the best. Plus Disneyland will be open till midnight during the summer. Have fun. If you have any more questions, my website is below and you can contact me on there. I would love for you to check it out. I post Disneyland news and updates frequently.

I would say those weeks are pretty good choices based on all the considerations you have outlined.

I have not noticed any significant extra crowds before the last two D23 Expos so that would open up the second week of August.
