We leave in 2 weeks with our active 2 yr old who still naps.

We are flying
Staying off property
Have a rental car
for 5 days

Big travel system stroller or umbrella stroller??

Both have some storage areas...one bigger then the other of course.

I say the big one for sure and Dh is sticking to his guns for the little easy to transport one.

I'd vote for the bigger one.

You will be able to carry more for a long day out, hopefully it reclines, and many umbrella strollers don't have sun shade (a must for little ones IMO)

Good luck!

I say the big one also. We took our umbrella stroller last year for my 3yo dd and it wasn't much help. I ended up renting a stroller in the parks everyday. Then we had to carry all our stuff and our sleeping daughter on the monorail and all the way out to the rental car. I was wishing we had brought our big stroller to the parks.

This year I found a $39 stroller at Target that is perfect for what we were needing. It has a nice size storage compartment on bottom, cup holders for the child and cupholders for the "stroller pushers". I love that part!! And, it reclines. My dd is 4 yrs old and still fits in it comfortably....even while napping. So this year I won't be renting a stroller and we won't have to carry her all the way back to the car.

Have a great trip!!

If your umbrella stroller has a canopy and a storage area I'd take that. We used an umbrella stroller for 6 years and never had an issue. They are MUCH easier to fold, carry, store, etc.

I'd agree with the last OP - if it has a storage area and canopy it is the best choice....My DS3 was fine with ours.

Have a great time!

The umbrella would be my vote if your child will nap in it. The big ones can be bulky to get on/off transport while holding onto your sleeping child and bags.
And I would bring one for sure, we didn't last year with a 4 and 5 year old, and regretted it every night while walking to our car....

I just bought a nice umbrella stroller for my DGS to use at DW. My DD-in-law and I picked it out at Babies R Us and it cost about $90.00. It looks like a full size stroller but folds up like an umbrella. There is a nice basket underneath and it reclines pretty good too. It also comes with a raincover :umbrella: and has a strap to carry it with. Oh and the name of it is the Chicco CT5. Now I just hope it makes it through the plane ride!! :earseek: Good luck!!
PS Does anyone know if you can take fold up strollers on the train at the MK? Thanks! :flower:

at disneyland last year they did let us on with it folded up.
This is off of the subject, but I noticed this info by your name...I'd be proud too if my husband was a soldier. Thank him for his service for me. ::yes:: Tinkermelody :flower:

I'd take the bigger stroller, unless you had other children and other people you will need to deal with. If your Dh is going to be carring it on and off transportation then definately take the big one. :flower:

Why not compromise? If you want the big stroller, promise to be the one responsible for it. If you want him to be responsible for dealing with it, shouldn't he be the one to decide? Your daughter is likely to sleep in either one, since she'll be much more tired than usual.

Ug! I hate those big travel systems. I would bring the umbrella stroller on that alone. The travel system will be hard to fold, bulky once folded and hard to carry. Plus, if you stuff the basket under it you will have to carry out all that stuff in addition to a bunky stroller and sleeping child.

Are you planning to go to places like WDW often? Are you planning another child? Then I would invest in a better umbrella stroller like the one tinkermell just bought. I bought my Maclaren stroller when my DD was just about 2 and we still use it at WDW (evenings only) and she is now 6. Macs are expensive, but they will hold up to just about anything.
