Hoping for some feedback on booking our first DVC stay. Travel dates are 9/12 - 9/20. Kids will be 4 years old & 9 months. The general gameplan for this trip is to have a more relaxed pace than normal. We want the flexibility to just come and go to the parks as easily as possible. We will have two strollers with us. We will be staying in a studio.

Our original plan was to book 9/12 through 9/15 at BWV - Garden View, and 9/16 - 9/19 at PVB Standard View. Focus would be Hollywood Studios and Epcot (Rare opportunity for us to experience F&W because we can generally only travel in July & August) while at BWV, 1 day at AK on our transfer day, and then focus on MK while at Poly. Was looking forward to Ohana in the room, and a morning Tonga Toast.

I was able to snag 9/12 through 9/14 at BWV, but because of the Moonlight Magic on 9/15, there wasn't any availability on this date. However, I was able to make a backup reservation in the elusive Copper Creek studios for the first 4 days of the trip. Here are the options that I see right now. If anyone has any better ideas, I'm open to listening to them.

1) Keep the three nights at BWV, then try and snag a 1 BR for the 4th night. This would cost 13 extra points that I was hoping not to use, but if I had to I can probably make it work. Then book Poly at my 7 month mark.

2) Keep the Copper Creek reservation. Use those 4 days to focus on MK, then do BWV on the back half of the trip. Unfortunately, this probably means we can't do the Moonlight Magic because I can't imagine taking the kids out of the strollers to go on the bus at midnight. Probably a rare opportunity for us to try Copper Creek though.

3) Keep the BWV reservation, and put in a waitlist for the 1 extra day. Make a backup reservation somewhere incase it doesn't come through. It would be great if it came through, but would be a major pain to switch to a 3rd resort for a single night.

Thoughts?

I would not do a 3rd switch. I would keep CCV as back up as you waitlist the last night at BWV, as well as keep checking online.

Worst case, you flip the way you do the parks. In terms of MM, remember, you can enter around 6, do what you can, then leave well before midnight.

I think a 3rd resort would be rough, especially with little ones. Option 2 sounds good. It’s covers MK area and EP/HD area. Cant go wrong with CCV and BWV

That is tough. I would not do a 3rd resort. I would do option 2,, and I would just go with getting on the bus after MM. They will probably just fall back asleep. I think you will love CC!!!

an update. I was able to swap my Copper Creek reservation for a BLT Lake view for 5 nights. Walking distance to MK is highly valuable with the young ones. So I currently have:

Sep 12,13,14 @ BWV - Pool & Garden Studio
Sep 15,16,17,18,19 @ BLT Lake View Studio
Sep 15 @ BWV - 1 BR Boardwalk View

Two current waitlists

Sep 15 @ BWV - 1 BR Standard View
Sep 15 @ BWV - Pool & Garden Studio

If our waitlist for the studio fills, then everything is perfect. If it doesn't fill, then we have to make the decision of which option we prefer.

1) Switch from our studio to a 1 BR for the night, then switch resorts the next night. This will cost an extra 11 points if our first waitlist doesn't go through, and 3 extra points if we get the standard one bedroom. Kind of a pain to switch rooms for a single night, but atleast we are within walking distance to Hollywood Studios for moonlight magic.

2) Skip MM altogether and do 3 nights at BWV followed by 5 at BLT.

While switching for one night is a bit of a pain, it's not the end of the world. I would just recommend trying to minimize the amount of "extra" stuff you get during those first three nights so you don't have to pack it all up for one night. For example, if you are planning to get groceries delivered, try to plan it out so that you use up as much of your groceries as possible before you have to move. Then plan to get a second grocery delivery once you have moved to BLT. If you are not getting groceries and will be eating most of your meals at Disney restaurants, then this is a non-issue. :)

Here's hoping that your BWV studio waitlist fills!! pixiedust:
