Right now we have Dec. 12/17 planned for our Spectro and Wishes viewing. This is a Saturday and the times are 9pm for Spectro and 10 for Wishes. I am wondering if this would be too late for our kids (9 and 4)?
We could go on Wed 12/14 and the times are 7 and 8 pm. Are the EMH nights overly busy for the parade and fireworks?
Has anyone done these on an EMH?
What would your advice be?

I've done two Wishes since the EMH nights, the one with the EMH night was busier. Non-park guests aren't actually thrown out of the park, they just can't ride the rides. Maybe lots of folks eat and shop and stay for Wishes?

I don't know about the kids, you'd be the better judge of that. But I always try very hard to make sure EVERYONE (especially me!) gets enough sleep.

Well, I would recommend two things - not having kids myself*edited to add - myself*, this is just an adult perspective!

I think that it is doable, but be careful not to exhaust yourself and ruin the rest of your vacation. Your sleep is important too ;) If you are going to stay out that late, I would plan the next day as a late start day. Don't plan an early morning that day, because it could become an extremely cranky day!

Also, I don't know if I would be able to start at park opening and still be going that late without a nap break! Because the park is open later, you could take a break around 2-4 and come back with plenty of time. Just a thought.

Either way - have a great time! Spectro and Wishes are DO NOT MISSES for me :dog:

Well.....Not have kids???? And where would you be if that was your Mom & Dad's decision? Secondly, this person actually does already have kids, so that's not really a choice is it?

I've been there many a night and there are lots of children still enjoying both Wishes & Spectro at those late hours. My advice is to play it by ear...if they get too exhausted after the first, go to see the other the next time you can!

ENJOY!

I don't think that Thumper's Tara was advising anyone not to have kids! ;)
Her statement was "Well, I would recommend two things - not having kids, this is just an adult perspective!" She was saying that she doesn't have children herself and her perpective might be different. I think that was misread.

Anyway, in regards to the Op's question. I think the earlier night might be better if its an option that fits your schedule. However, I wouldn't worry to much about the kids being tired. It amazes me how well outr kids do at Disney even on late nights. The magic just keeps them going!

Wendy1953 - I didn't mean it as you took it. I am all for having kids and can't wait to have them of my own. Unfortunately, one of the joys of non-verbal communciation is it can be misunderstood.

I think it was a combination of my fingers not working as fast as my brain and it being misread. I was not suggesting not having kids. What I meant to say was "not having any kids myself"! The myself got left off because my fingers didn't keep up with my brain.

Thanks for understanding what I meant mom2threeboys!

So sorry I mistook your message, please excuse me! I hope your dream to be a mom does come true! So Sorry once again!
