Hi,

We are doing the Wishes Fireworks cruise for our 20th wedding anniversary. Family doesn't know anything about it..it's so hard to keep this surprise almost spilled the beans yesterday.

My question is this...I want to order a champagne/sparkling wine for the cruise and my choices are these:

Domaine Ste. Michelle, Washington State -
Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee Brut, Green Valley -
Moet & Chandon Cuvee Dom Perignon Brut - out ...don't like and price is way too much

Has anyone tried the other 2? I hate dry wine. I want something sweet and bubbly. :drinking1

Also if anyone knows what else I may order (I know about the strawberries and the cake) to have on the boat please let me know. I actually have been looking at the cakes and seem to like the ones from GF so might be changing my pick up from Cont. to GF so I can get that cake.

Any other advice would be great..travel party will be me, DH, DSs 16 & 12, DB with wife and DN 2.

If you want sweet & bubbly, go with Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante! :thumbsup2 It's definitely easy on the wallet! LOL We had it at our wedding b/c I don't like dry champagnes either. I could drink a whole bottle of asti spumante! Everyone liked it too. I think people always want to get a more expensive champagne.

See if they could get it for you. For our FTW, it wasn't on the available wine list but they were able to get it...

I think I've had Fairy Tale Cuvee - it's not sweet...kind of dry...

Sorry, I don't know about your other questions b/c I've never done the wishes cruise! good luck!

About the wine: The Italian Pavilion has Rose Regale. I'm pretty sure that this is a sparkling wine. It is sweet and delicious. Someone on the boards will correct me if I'm wrong.

John's Mom, gmta, I was coming here to recommend Rosa Regale... Love it, sparkling and sweet red wine..Also, you could do a dessert wine, some of the Muscats are wonderful...

The Iron Horse is pretty sweet. Too sweet for my tastes.

I agree on Asti Spumante (we too served it at our wedding!) or the Rosa Regale, which I've been hooked on for years now (we were married in the Italy Pavilion, so it's special to get a glass there on our trips). I'm sure Disney has both available and both are reasonably priced. The Rosa Regale is especially good with chocolate!!!

Well, as my first choice, I would go with the Iron Horse because the Fairy Tale Cuvee is made just for Disney. I can also recommend the Domaine Ste. Michelle - we had this on NYE and really enjoyed it. It's not too sweet and very crisp. Domaine Ste. Michelle is one of our favorite domestic vineyards. Have a great time on your cruise & Happy Anniversary!!!

wow! now I want to try the Rosa Regale...sounds yummy!

Get the Iron Horse. They are one of the permier US makers of sparkling wines. Their wines are found on the table at the White House and are routinely fantastic. The Fairy tale is very reasonable priced and very good. We had it at Coral Reef and it was the best part of the meal. It's the perfect wine for an evening boat ride. Not super expensive but delicious.

Thanks all!!! I knew this was the right place to get help :thumbsup2

I myself perfer Asti's and would love to try the Rosa Regale and will. The problem is that my only options are the ones mentioned in the op.

Domaine Ste. Michelle, Washington State -
Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee Brut, Green Valley

So out of these 2 which one is sweeter? ;)

Anything that says brut means very dry, so going by that the Domaine Ste Michelle should be sweeter.

The Domaine Ste. Michelle is also a brut cuvee, and is not quite as sweet as the Iron Horse. I've had all three, and the Iron Horse is the sweetest.

Depending on the year the Dom can be pretty sweet as well, in fact there have been a few years that Dom isn't even close to worth the cost--particularly if it's a "sweeter" vintage.
