The title says it all. Which snacks do you put in your luggage that won't get squished or melt. I was going to send a box to myself, but just figured I would save the hassel of going to the post office.

I have packed boxes of individually wrapped things like granola bars, pop tarts, cookies, pringles chips, etc. I have also put more squishable things into a shoe box in my luggage with no problem. Then, when it's all gone, I have extra space for souviners. The shoe box has been an extra protection for squishable souviners, too. Word of warning, however....my family has NEVER eaten all the snacks I packed! The meals we eat are too big, the mickey bars are too tempting, and we just don't have the appetite for the snacks I bring.

We never eat all our snacks either...but I still always have them with us. Also, a lot of airlines are starting to charge for snack/beverage service so it makes sense to bring your own instead of paying $2 for a bag of peanuts/pretzels. We bring various, 100 calorie packs, twizzlers, dum dum pops (for DD), Pringles (don't squish easily), granola bars, cups of cereal, pop tarts, and Crystal Light packets for the yucky florida water.

fruit leathers for the kids :) easy to pack since they are little and so yummy :) Pop Tarts, small boxed cereal, spoons, bowls, crystal light packets, granola bars, energy bars...O' and I let the kids pick out their own snacks in the store and make their own goody bags :)

I picked up one of those disposable gladware containers... Figured we could put items that normally would crumble like donuts, muffins or whatever, then throw it away and not feel bad about it.

I pack peanut butter and crackers in the little packages like by Ritz, Rice Krispie treats, we like the peanut butter and chocolate ones, popcorn if you will have a microwave in your room and the lunch size snack bags of ritz mix. I pack mine in a shoe box in my suitcase as well and have never had a problem. Also, we have not ever eaten them all either. Husband is diabetic though so snacks are a must.

we took beef jerky, trail mix, fruit snacks, popcorn for our room. Oh, and several boxes of kool-aid packets.

 I thought I would pack bananas in my carry-on. it is a carry-on, they will be fine right?! Not so much! They were totally icky by the time we got to our room. The apples were fine. I also packed cereal, granola bars, juice boxes, and the milk boxes that do not have to be cold (my son is lactose intolerant, so that was a life saver!)

Where do you get the milk boxes? I've never seen those before! Also- did TSA check your bags? Was it ok to bring fruit or did they look at you weird? I wonder if it would be ok in my checked luggage????

I got our milk boxes at Trader Joe's, but I have seen them just about everywhere (Meijer, Kroger, etc.). I have seen them in soy and regular; chocolate and white.

We had no problems with the fruit in our carry-ons. I did pack the milk boxes in the checked luggage (minus a couple in our diaper bag) just in case. I left them wrapped in their original plastic and put that inside a big ziplock bag, no leaks what-so-ever. :thumbsup2
