I'm in the process of trying to pick out a sit down restaurant at Epcot, my kids are pretty fussy ( 10 & 8) but my husband & I would like something half decent. I thought maybe the Italian, he thought maybe China, I'd loved to go to The Coral Reef, but don't thinks it's worth 2 credits on the meal plan?

Coral Reef is 1 credit on the meal plan, not two. It was changed some time ago.

Unless they're putting it back at 2 for 2007, which I wouldn't know because I haven't read the new list.

We hated LeCellier - steak is no better than any place at home and service was horrid. Better steak can be found at Concourse, Jiko, Yachtsman, and Citricos.

Coral Reef is just 1 credit, we thought it was good with nice atmosphere. We enjoyed Alfredos but only for the fettuchini alfredo (rest tasted like Olive Garden Italian), Chefs de France was good, we LOVE Marrakesh, Nine Dragons was good too but nothing too different than at home.

I also do not recommend Le Cellier. I would recommend Chefs de France.

You can also take the boat to the Boardwalk or Yacht Club and Beach Club for Spoodles, Flying Fish, ESPN Club, Yacht Club Galley (very nice) or Yachtsman Steakhouse. OH, also Cape May Cafe.

I recommend Le Cellier. We ate there in Feb for the first time. The bread was yummy...the bacon chedder soup to die for and the steak was excellent!

Not a huge fan of LeCellier, I prefer Shula's if I want steak, but I know people love it there. Just not wowed...

I like Alfredo's, I have always had a good meal there, both restaurants in France, Teppanyaki in Japan, and Rose and Crown for some good English food...

I also leave Epcot and enjoy Spoodles, Beaches and Cream and the Galley Restaurant whenever I am on that side of the world..

Le Cellier or Chefs would be our suggestion.

Thumbs down go to Marrakesh, Alfredos and Biergarten, especially Marrakesh

Have not tried it yet but I would like to try Nine Dragans some day. The reviews go in all different directions for that place, though.

Never tried and have no interest in the Norway restaurant.

The food is not that great but the characters are wonderful at Garden Grill

We like Teppanyaki in Japan, Le Cellier in Canada, Coral Reef in FW, and Rose and Crown in the UK, thought Alfredos was OK, but not worth the cost, something we forget every few visits and go back, only to say "oh yeah, that's why we haven't come back". I thoguht San Angel in Mexico was ok, but not great either.

We ate at Le Cellier last Monday and loved it. We had great food and great service. We also ate at Coral Reef last week and it was very good. The kids might really like the atmosphere. Our DDs (9 & 12) loved it there watching the fish, big turtle and the diver in the tank! DD9 had spaghetti which she said was perfect; DD12 had the mahi mahi (she's adventurous with the food, though!). We've eaten at Nine Dragons in the past --- no better than local takeout but the kids really liked it; Marakesh -- didn't really like the cuisine but the belly dancer was fun; Restaurant in Mexico (can't remember the name) --- mixed reviews from our family. We're trying to schedule a different country restaurant during each of our trips. When not on the DDP we try to book the last lunch seating of the day and have that as our dinner. It's plenty of food and less expensive than the dinner menu.

How fussy are the children? 10 is an adult at Disney and I know my children, although they wanted to go to Coral Reef to see the fish, would eat nothing on the menu. They had dessert and we had lunch.

Garden Grill has the characters which was a crowd pleaser.

Le Celliar was able to bring my 13 yr old chicken strips and he was thrilled. He wouldn't eat anything at Marakeesh and we do enough chinese takeout at home was DH's comment.

Check the menus to see where the children would have something to eat.

If you go to Benihana type restaurants at home then Tepanyaki is probably old hat for you....BUT if you haven't & the kids are kinda picky eaters, it's a great choice for your family.

It's fun, the food is very good (steak chicken etc.) - (not great or fine dining). But the chefs put on a good show. Our family enjoys Tepanyaki & Ohana for a couple of Table Service meals, because the food is good & family friendly AND it's a fun show.

hound :smooth:

My DW, DD5 and I ate at Marrakesh in August. We liked the food but I wouldn't say we loved it. And my DD did love the music and belly dancers.

If you want something different, I'd look at some other reviews and consider it.
