Which 'Signature' restaurant do you recommend?

I'm just looking at making a list of ADRs for our trip next April/May. We'll definitely be doing one of the 'signature' restaurants, but we have no idea which yet :confused3

We originally thought California Grill: we enjoyed it so much last year, but understand it is shut during our holiday next year. So that was an easy decision to make :lmao:

Now I need some of your advice on picking something else! One of our friend's mentioned Le Cellier, but would love to hear your thoughts too.

Thank you :)

Restaurants are so difficult to recommend, half of your experience is the service which veries greatly. We ate at Cali Grill, rubbish server, smallest piece of steak I have ever eaten, asked for fast service but it was sooo slow, sat under aircon. Everything about it we disliked, others love it.

Yachtsman first time the server was outstanding, one of best I have ever had, lobster bisque, brilliant steak, in heaven dessert then let it down but still amazing evening.
2nd visit, server not as good, desserts even worse than first visit, why can't they do a nice cheesecake or treacle sponge? I am not into arty food.:rotfl:

After this we decided Signature dining is not for us, won't do anymore, especially if on DDP, they are not great value. 1 credit meals cost almost as much on the reciept as a signature meal.

Not eaten at Le Cellier since it turned signature. For 1 credit dinner we had 1 good & 1 bad meal. 1st time was far better than Cali Grill for us, 2nd time very very salty food.

Jiko at AKL is very good, some of the best food we have had at WDW.

Hi my dh have eaten at a lot of Wdw signature restaurants and the best meal ( in our opinion ) was Narcossees at the grand Floridian - it was amazing service, food and atmosphere . Jiko our second place and artists point 3rd. We loved le cellier when lunch was 1 point but don't think it's worth 2 . It's nice but not special!

If you look at my 2011 trip report ( check signature) it has a full review with photos of Narcossees . Hope that helps

Thanks for your recommendations so far - I was hoping that there would be one resounding obvious choice, but alas no! :lmao:

That's good to know though! Decisions, decisions!

I second Narcoossee's. Had a very pleasant meal there; and the desert which I believe was a Strawberry Pavlova (??) was divine.

Artist Pointe or Yachtsman for us!

What about a dinner show? Hoop De Doo is good value for 2 credits as it is all inclusive

I second artist point outstanding meal and service. Or f you want a 1 credit option that is a great meal the wave at the contemporary excellent food and service.
Cali grill for us this year was disappointing it was just not good. Not from a service point of view but the food was just not as good as before.

Always top of our list for 2 credits :thumbsup2

It's on our list for next summer - which show time did you go to with bus directly back to OKW? DH wants to make the most of the beer!!

We're doing a couple of non-Disney days, and so have some TS credits left over - the group decided we'd do one signature and one dinner show :)

We have all done Hoop De Doo before, but would happily do it again - it's that or the Spirit of Aloha show for us :) I'm inclined to do SoA, just because it's a brand new thing :)

7:15pm Bus drops off at Both Port Orleans resorts then OKW. Although this last time he took us to OKW first, I think sing wheels on the bus as loud as we could clinched it. :goodvibes

Ooooohhh hadn't thought of one of the shows instead of a signature meal, liking the thinking! I'll get researching now, lol!

Loving the wheels on the bus tip Wayne, I shall remember that!!!

Although many enjoy the Signature restaurants they are not great value on DDP.
Compare 3 meals on DDP from our receipts (this was for 3 adults)

1 credit
Akershus $153.33 (includes photo, plus unlimited smoked salmon, sorry a fave of mine:cloud9:)

2 credits
Yachtsman $178.99
Hoop Dee Doo $188.97 (includes show, gratuity $30 extra at a Signature & almost 2 hours of alcohol)

We have tried Signatures due to having too many credits plus I would never pay OOP to eat there so I knew it was the only way we would eat in these restaurants but we have enjoyed many 1 credit meals far more than Signatures. Plenty of choice for everyone, I will leave them for others to enjoy.

We have been lucky enough to eat at all the signature restaurants and I absolutely love Jiko! You won't be disappointed at Jiko...
